This got me thinking in your uncle Blite au Eli brings Blite to meet the rest of the Shane family and try to reconnect with Jimmo. How would the rest of the family react to meeting Blite and how would Blite feel seeing the rest of the Shane family?
Honestly, I feel like the vibe depends on whether or not Will told any of his relative, especially Jimmo, that he had to trap someone in the Cavern of Time because of how violent a Slinger Blite was.
It's the equivalent of finding out your related to a felon, your cop cousin tossed in a jail cell without even knowing, and then said felon showing up to a BBQ like 6 years later is all I'm saying.
Should Eli bring Blite to the Surface to meet the rest of the Shane family that exists and know about Slugterra. It's uh, going to be an experience.
Especially when it comes to Jimmo.
Rightfully so there is a lot of shock an confusion. Like come on- What so you mean we have a relative we knew nothing about?! What you mean HE WAS TRAPPED IN THE CAVERN OF TIME BY WILL?! WHAT THE HELL ELI!? WHAT HAPPENED WHILE YOU WHERE PROTECTING SLUGTERRA??????
Meanwhile Blite is just standing there trying to not take up to much space because this is hella awkward for him. It's one thing to be with the Gang, but this? a family reunion? WHOLE OTHER THING
Once it comes out that Jimmo is Blite's dad, everyone has that collective:
because as we have established the HC, Jimmo Shane was a play boy in his youth as Protector and had a many a flings on this blog. And that is no secret to the Shane family in this AU.
No one really thought Jimmo was stupid enough to have a kid with one of those flings, but here we are.
Jimmo is shook to know he had a son. and that said son ended up having to be trapped in the Cavern of Time by his nephew(Will), and is now here and very much so no longer a violent person.
I feel Jimmo would be a tad guilty. As far as we know the guy never married(hence why we can make his love life such a mess lol), but considering the era of time he was from(that being the early 1930's), it's likely he would have ponied up and been as much of a family man as he could given his role as Shane.
Blite on the other hand is very much so not all that interested in it? As mentioned before, the guy dose not want to be a Shane, more accurately the responsibilities tied to being a Shane. But he is open to being family, as long as it's on his terms. He's a grown man with a lot of baggage, and want's to get to know these people, to continue building meaningful connections with others so he dose not fall back into who he was Pre-Cavern of Time.
Jimmo dose not exactly know how to be a father, and Blite is his mothers son-even then he has not been a son in a long while.
I honestly don't see them having much of a father son relationship, it's FAR to late for that. But I do see them being cordial. Blite whoever dose as the obligatory 'if you knew, would you have stayed?' question. It's a mush honestly.
Over all it's a lot of adjustments for everyone at the end of the day, and not all of them are going to happy about it, but they will find a way to live with it.
At least that's how I interpret it. the Uncle Blite AU is up for interpretation by anyone who takes an interest in it, so I'm sure others my have a different take on it.
Thank you for the ask Anon!
