many, many, MANY transfems do not feel safe dressing or looking feminine and choose to stay in boy mode when in public. that stranger could be gay, bisexual, polyamorous, a closeted trans woman, that stranger could be a trans man, that stranger could be a nonbinary person, a crossdresser, a transsexual, an intersex person, a genderfluid person, a drag performer in or out of drag, or anyone else on the planet. remember that there are in fact trans men who pass so effortlessly that they have a hard time getting people to believe they're trans. just because that person is very masculine does not guarantee that they're AMAB and cis (or het), not that any of these things are inherently bad.

you cannot tell, with 100% certainty, how a stranger identifies just by looking at them. it well never be ok to make assumptions about somebody's gender or sexuality based upon their outward appearance. no, in fact, you will never be able to always tell or (with your phrasing) be able to "clock" them.

Like, the only problem with being uncomfortable around 30+% of the population is that it might be transphobic? Really?

If you're constantly uncomfortable around one gender regardless of circumstance, especially if that means you feel threatened, you should consider working through that with a therapist.

Ways my husband serves me

~Working hard to afford everything.

~taking charge of most of the driving. ((I'm a passenger princess most of the time))

~Handy around the house, he knows how to fix about anything. He's redone our flooring, fixed leaks, replaced sinks, repaired walls, constructed our bed frame from scratch and other things.

~A wonderful father!! Sometimes he's a better parent than I am. Since our daughter was born he's always taken over for me especially when I get tired.

~Does most of the lawn care.

~Knows how to change the oil, tires, and other basic car maintenance that I haven't a clue about.

~Always loyal, and grateful for me.

~He cooks in this household, because it's one of his passions. He cooks more than I do actually.

The idea that, in older ways of life or more traditional forms of community, women did not work is a malicious myth

Women have always worked and contributed to the development of our communities

Domestic work is still work

In more agrarian-dependent areas, working on the family farm, in whatever capacity they can, is implicitly expected of women

Child care is still work

It’s so strange to see people really believe that women just enjoying themselves and being girly means they secretly view themselves as inferior

But hardcore porn deliberately spreads the message that women are meant to be degraded and that, especially feminine women, are easy targets

It’s not true but it does have the adverse affect of making women want to distance themselves from traditional femininity in efforts to protect themselves from pornsick men who will never value them as human beings with individual personalities
