rlly fascinating phenomenon to me is when a character is extremely popular, and that popularity seems understandable enough because they've got something interesting going on, and then you look at the fandom and realize 99% of their fans don't actually care about engaging with any of the things that make them interesting and instead seem to be fans of an imaginary milquetoast version that exists solely for ship and/or angst content and is so far removed from the canon character they might as well be an unrelated OC at this point

#nothing objectively wrong with this type of thing but it’s not really for me #kind of why I dislike a lot of ships #feels like people forget about characters and what makes them unique in favor of fitting specific roles in a romantic relationships #and since romance itself isn’t really an appealing thing for me (aro) I just end up getting sad and frustrated #this isn’t exclusive to romance tho it happens with other things too and also makes me sad 😭

whoops yeah i just realised i never actually made a proper post for this version of the flag with meanings and stuff SORRY watch in awe as i copy and paste most of the explanations from the old post and say pretty much exactly the same thing i did before

the flag is basically divided into three sections - with the top pair of colours and the bottom pair of colours being two spectrums

green-light green - the aro-spectrum (and aromanticism itself represented by green because green belongs to us now hell yeah). this covers every identity under the aro umbrella - demi, grey, lith/akoi, wtf/quoiro, cupio etc. EVERYTHING. even ones that don’t have names yet.

white - basically the ‘platonic’ stripe - friendship/platonic and aesthetic attraction/queerplatonic relationships/family, the importance and validity of all non-romantic relationships and feelings and non-romantic forms of love etc. etc. etc. etc.

black-grey - the sexuality spectrum - acknowledging aro-aces, aromantic allosexuals, and everything in between because we are a diverse lot [previous posts (warning huge icky yellow stripe in the first two): x x x]
