You were my source of hope as well as despair.

I didn’t know you for twenty something years. I’ve only known you for a few months. But those months have been more meaningful to me than the 20 years. Time has a different meaning to me now. Before I met you, everything was a blur. I just felt like I was barely surviving. I know I sound weak-minded to say this, but even if my life were to end wherever at any moment, I wouldn’t have cared at all except for leaving my mother behind. That’s how I felt. But that all changed after meeting you. After such a brief period of time, I’ve become someone who cannot live without you, and I even thought, that life could be quite enjoyable. So, don’t abandon me. 

Don’t you know? If you catch a falling flower petal, your wish will come true. / Your first love will come true when you catch falling cherry blossoms.  

At times, a memory hits you out of nowhere. In what may have been the happiest moment of my life, the scariest memory resurfaced.  

Whenever I had nightmares, my grandma told me all sorts of fairy tales. All the stories had one thing in common. “Don’t ever turn around. If you do...” You either turn into stone or into a pillar of salt in those stories. Whenever I got scared or curious about the meaning of my dream, my grandma always said this to me; “Don’t turn around, my child.”
