â â Itâs incredibly hot outside and my muse is trying to persuade yours to go swimming together.
âItâs merely May, do you really think itâs the time for such a thing?â Seren retorts, frustration clouding her brow â itâs a battle sheâs lost before it even truly started, and sheâs well aware of it, but sheâs not known for giving in to other peopleâs wishes easily, and today wonât be the day for that reputation to change. Sheâs swum in colder waters, earlier in the year, but she counts on the fact that Youngji doesnât know that. But doesnât she really? Sheâs certain sheâs told her tales of her childhood⌠she may have mentioned that at some point.
Either way, the other girl is not fazed and, instead of commenting on Serenâs argument, she merely points to Myfanwy, whoâs perked up at the simple hearing of the word âswimmingâ â her big blue eyes are locked on Serenâs features, pleading just as much as Youngjiâs are. âDonât you think you owe Myfanwy the chance to cool down a little?â Itâs true, the surge of heat that has taken over Seoul has Seren worried, the Huskyâs coat is so thick, so warm that sheâs not certain sheâll take it well.
But even so⌠she doesnât quite feel like swimming. Not today. But sheâs always going to put her puppyâs well-being over her whims, so, without even gracing the other girl with a reply, she picks herself off from the couch, sighing as dramatically as she could. âGet up then, both of you puppies! The beachâs waiting for us.â
âYes, yes it is.â Youngji is a firm believer that itâs never wrong to go to the beach (regardless of the weather conditions and time of year). Come on, Seren, she seems to plead with her gaze, innocent doe eyes glancing up at the other once. Youngji would normally resort to shamelessly acting cute to obtain her wishes. Itâs pretty devious but it works, at least, sometimes. She hasnât tried the puppy dog pout on Seren to see its effectiveness yet, however she hopes itâs successful at least once in this lifetime.Â
Itâs a miracle (or perhaps the work of divine intervention) when she hears a response that sounded a lot like approval. Youngji bolts up from her seat in an instant, billowy brown locks bouncing up as she danced around in joy. âSeriously! Oh gosh, oh gosh, Letâs gooooâ her lilting voice fades into the distance when she scampers to grab as much stuff as she could into a large tote. Swimsuits, towels, a run-down frisbee, and even a boatload (well maybe not boat) of snacks for them. âWhich beach are we going to? Taking your car or mine? Ah, how long do you think itâll be to get there?â words spill from her lips in a never ending dance, all in sheer eagerness. In fact, Youngjiâs not known to be able to shut her mouth once sheâs this excited.Â
Youngji already had her keys in that huge bag of hers anyway, so she offers to drive this time around. It was her idea to go out swimming after all.  âWould you like to pick up some stuff on the way?â she asks, unlocking the doors with a press of a button.Â
