Phasta was still trapped in the house in episode 3, but Nahkun was slowly appearing to give him more freedom. I honestly think that Nakhun, who I see as a green flag, is running scared because that bond fever will murder you. Between more freedom and Phasta finally starting to do some real work, I think Phasta is slowly getting used to the situation. In the next episode, he's moody. I honestly think that he's going to be feeling better and closer to Nakhun (look at Phasta in the preview helping him sit down at the dining table) and then gets slapped in the face with an unexpected pregnancy that could cause a downward spiral and cause other problems.

Should I read the novel? Will it make more sense?

The answer is "probably yes". But I don't know when. Before I started writing the Desire fic, I was working on a new Kyuranger fic, dark one where Hammie and Naga are sexually abused by Jark Matter called Under the Moons. It's a work in progress that I basically wrote half of and am just now starting to get reinterested in again. But this one, I can't really publish because I was experimenting with AI, so between the AI, the dark plot, and the mpreg I figured no one would want to read it anyway, but it was a story I wanted to see so even if it's just for me it's fine. But then the finale of Desire hit and I was so angry at how badly it ended that I started writing the fic, which is snowballing into weirdness and I don't think it has a lot of interest anymore. So that's pushed back Snakes. Maybe I can finish it once I finish Scent of the Apple Blossom and Under the Moons.
