idk if you found an app for notifying you bout planetary movements and transits? but i use time nomad & would recommend it! idk if it'll have detailed enough notifications but i know it has planet movements
I went and checked it out and I think you might've just saved me. Haven't had a chance to look at it super in-depth just yet, but I got a pop-up saying it'll notify me about transits, aspects, retrogrades, and returns and that's honestly more than I could ask for.
Thank you so much for the recommendation!

Weyward Grove β May
It's the first month of Weyward Grove, and we already started with a toughie.ββ
Throughout my life, I've given the concept of magic a lot of thought. I was raised believing magic existed - but unsurprisingly, my perception and understanding of it has changed over the years. There's been times where I've been asked to explain what magic is and how I know it's "real," but the truth is, I don't know. The way I interact with magic is always changing.
Sometimes, my belief is steadfast and unwavering - I see the magic in everything, everywhere, all the time; paradoxically though, there are times when I'm unaffected, unmoved and indifferent to magic, too. My understanding ebbs and flows.
Someone sent me a message saying that something odd was happening with the stars - and while I'm still waiting for them to tell me what they meant, I decided to look at my horoscope and yeah.
The Mercury-Sun/Moon square is beating my ass, I fear. Mercury is so at home in Gemini, and my Virgo Moon desperately wants to get along (as a fellow mercurial sign) - but my poor Pisces Sun just wants to relax.
In my life, I see this manifesting as a need - almost to the point of compulsion, to look towards the future while simultaneously finding every excuse to take it slow. In desperate need of a break that never seems to come because the need to feel "productive" is all-consuming at times.
I think, when we talk about cleansing and protection "routines", most people automatically think of layers of ritual and full sterilized cleansing. But it doesn't have to be. Some people might do weekly or monthly ritual cleansing and warding. But not every routine is a ceremony.
Sometimes the "cleansing" someone's referring to is just opening their windows. Sometimes the "warding routine" is just giving offerings to the warding spirits. A space being cleansed for one person might mean fully sanctified and sealed; for someone else, it might mean a specific type of energy that accumulates in a space more aggressively due to a person's circumstances, lifestyle, and practice. A space being "well-warded" for one person might mean layers of magical wards created through circumambulation with tools or elements; for someone else, it might be bells on the door, a mirror as a reflecting ward, and a witch bottle buried under the stairs.

to other folk witches: how do you engage in protection magic?
I've never been a heavily warded kind of person. if something is coming my way, I often dream about it, and get told the protective measures to take. if I feel off, I'll divine about it, and react accordingly.
i enchanted the necklace i wear everyday and have six baneful wards for myself and my family, protecting us from general negativity and Bad Things. i also have placed individual wards on my all doorways for protection and prosperity, including sachets, black salt, and runes drawn in protection oil. π listing it all out makes it kinda seem like a lot, but these were all reactionary things i felt "called" to do
Most of my protection magic is centered around my house.
At home, we have a cinnamon brooms over the exterior doors, an evil eye ward at the front door, a crystal grid set up inside, and sigils written with moon water on every windows.
If I feel like something bad is coming, I'll sprinkle black salt on the top of the doorframes and on windowsills as a type of "barrier" to keep the bad out, but that's rare. For personal protection, I write sigils under my nail polish. It keeps me feeling protected and is discreet enough that no one would even notice until the polish starts to clip.
There have definitely been times where I felt called to do protection, but for the most part, the upkeep of my protection wards is so weaved into my life (cleaning the windows, dusting off the crystals, etc.) and regular non-magical practice (painting my nails), that I don't feel like I need to dedicate time to setting them up.
They are all quiet constants, like a program running in the background.
In desperate need of an app that will send a notification about transits and planetary movements so I don't have to hear about them last minute by word-of-mouth.

Obsessed with the upcoming Lunar Eclipse happening within 6 degrees of my natal Moon.
It's a bit funny looking back at this now, knowing that I quit my job on the morning of the Lunar Eclipse.
I woke up real early that day, only to discover that I couldn't see the actual eclipse because the moon was hidden somewhere. I decided then and there that something in my life needed to change (that's the Virgo charm) - so, I quit my job, effective immediately.
The sentiment around this specific eclipse was that its Virgoan energy shouldn't be used for manifestation - but I manifested myself a new job before the month was over. I quit after 6 months with little progress and no back up besides what I had in my savings and a dream and got hired somewhere else in 20 days. I make more money now (by virtue of just getting a consistent schedule) and I'm set to get a $7.50 pay increase within the next month or so. Quitting that day was probably the best thing I could've done for myself - otherwise, I'd still be working a retail job and hating myself for every second of it.
Weyward Grove's Theme for May 2026 is: Magic
The theme to explore for May 2026 is magic. It seemed a fitting theme to open our prompts with. As you may already know, Weyward Grove is a project created with the intention of fostering exploration and celebration of magical and mystical traditions, as well as encouraging introspection and growth in one's own magical path and magical perspectives and understandings. This month, we're doing so by exploring the concepts, ideas, and functions of magic, as well as exploring our own beliefs and definitions surrounding magic.
Here are some examples of questions through which one can explore their beliefs and definitions of magic within their own practice/craft, culture, religion, etc.:
-What is magic? -Do we create magic ourselves? Or are there pre-existing magical currents we're utilizing? -Where does magic come from? What is its origin?
And some further examples of more introspective, philosophical ponderings to explore and play with this month:
-Does magic have a purpose? -If magic isn't "magic," what else might it be? -Are you a maker of magic? Or has magic made you? -What role does magic play in your life, practice, beliefs, etc.?
Feel free to explore these questions within your practice, play with them, answer them in any way you'd like. You can spend as long or as little with these questions as you want. Perhaps these questions birth further questions, which you are more than welcome to share and explore in your submitted posts, reblogs, or responses.
Need ideas of what to post? Weyward Grove encourages creativity, passion, and nerdiness of all sorts, so don't worry about getting "too crafty" with artistic mediums of expression, "too wordy" with written responses or journaling/logs detailing your process and answers, or "too into it" when sharing your opinions. Remember, answer in whatever way you're moved to β Q & As, essays, poems, digital art, photo diaries, mood boards, videos, audio, etc.

"A jinx will ruin someone's day or week (maybe), a hex will wreak havoc in a certain area of someone's life, and a curse will get up from your altar, pick up it's purse and lipstick and go become the worst roommate they ever had" - My wife when I asked her to describe the difference between the three
Thereβs something so emotional about the outer planets entering new signs.
They stay there for so long and often define an era or generation. With Uranus stepping into Gemini soon, I canβt help but worry about how Iβll change over the next 6 years. Itβs enviable that I will, but at the same time, I cannot help but be a little scared of the change.
