Chapter 7: Continuation

Merida’s POV:

My cheeks were burning,I can’t even feel it anymore.”A dance for love?” Punzie said, her eyes getting bigger as her smile turns into a huge grin.Hiccup was looking at me, his emerald green eyes scanning me.I don’t know what I feel about this, but I know it’s not suppose to be like this.I felt giddy, like I want to puke but in a good way.I looked away from his gaze, and looked at Jack.His face turning pale, like how you see someone who’ve seen a ghost.I came up in front of Jack and looked at him,”Jack,ye ‘right lad?” I asked, he fidgeted before nodding to me.”Just got caught up.” He replied and let out a nervous laugh.

“Well,we should get going, the prefects are already patrolling.” Punzie said and dragged Hiccup away.”Eugene was about to say something when he was cut off by Jack.”Eugene, you should go back first,I’ll walk Merida to her Dorm.” “But her dorm is like a few meters away.” Jack looked at Eugene, he understood it clearly so Eugene nodded and left us.Leaving me and Jack standing awkwardly.    “Well,should we go?”Jack asked,”O-Oh ye, les go.” I said and started walking.”So, you had fun with Hiccup?” “Well o’ course ah did. Didn’ knew et wa’ tha’ song.Me dad would always sing tha’ song te me mum.”I said, swinging my left arm as I held on to the bow and arrows on the right.

As we reached the Phoenix’s dorm,Jack stopped on his track,”Merida, there’s something I’d like to ask.” I stopped walking and looked at him,”Syure. Wha’s dah?” “Uhm, do you, like someone?” I looked at him, his eyes looking away.I pondered for a moment, do I like someone? I looked at Jack, well he does make me feel nice sometimes.But I imagined Hiccup,he was looking at me sternly.I shook my head, a small tint of blush forming on my face.”Noh, no’ I can rememba.” I said plainly, hiding this,this thing I’m feeling is good enough for now.Jack looked at me,his smile getting bigger and bigger,”T-That’s great!I mean you know, it’s-I’ll go bye.”He said and hurriedly ran away.I chuckled and went inside my dorm to finally take a shut eye.

Rapunzel’s POV:

The next day was awfully quiet, Merida hasn’t showed up in any of the classes, even Astrid. I’d understand if it’s Merida, but Astrid? Now that’s a strange thing to happen.Professor Strongbear was demonstrating  what CPR is.With the help of the mannequin which is named’Debby’. “ Open the airway. Perform 30 chest compressions, open the person's airway using the head-tilt, chin-lift maneuver. Put your palm on the person's forehead and gently tilt the head back. ” My mind drifted away, looking all around the room to find Hiccup who was a nervous wreck. “Now,remember to call the emergency hotline or well someone who’s a doctor so that you could actually save a life.People this days forget about this.” He said and left the class momentarily.I stood up and went to Hiccup,”Hiccup, have you seen Merida?” “Uhm I was actually going to ask you that but, yeah. No I haven’t seen her.” “Well that’s odd,she hasn’t been in her classes today!” I said trying to keep calm.

Jack came running in the room causing us to flinch.”Have you guys seen Merida?!” “No, why did something happen?” I asked, exiting the room. “I haven’t seen her in Botany class, even in the Dining Hall! You know Merida’s favorite place is the Dining Hall.” He said, raising an eyebrow at me.” OF course I know Jack,but we haven’t seen her in any of our class as well.” I said, and started to walk to the Dining Hall.”Actually,I saw her earlier today.” Hiccup said which cause me to look at him as well as Jack.”Well, where is she?” I asked,Hiccup hesitated before opening his mouth.”She’s with Astrid, and they’re planning a surprise party for Eep.” He said, I let out a sigh of relief. “Then why didn’t she tell us?” Jack asked, “Well, it’s because she doesn’t want us to see her dress as princess.” He said,I raised my eyebrow. “Hic, we’ve seen her dozens of times in her dress! What more could it be?” I said, Hiccup looked at me then Jack.”Ugh, fine.Meet me in front of the Phoenix’s Dorm. Don’t let anyone see you, okay?” He said, and went running away to who knows where. 

Jack looked like me,”What’s that all about?” he asked,” I don’t know, but whatever it is,I think we should dress decently.” I said and smile.

Jack’s POV:

I waited for Punzie and Hiccup in front of the Phoenix’s dorm.Eugene was obviously sleeping, since he’s snoring out loud despite the fact we are hiding in a bush.”Eugene! Wake up or you’ll get us caught!” I said, silently, but loudly enough for him to hear.He flinched a little before wiping the ghostly saliva off of his face.Finally Punzie and Hiccup arrived,I stood up and went to them,Eugene following me with a snoozy face. “Jack,Eugene.” Hiccup said nodding at us.We were about to knock when the Head prefect of the Phoenix saw us.”And what do we have here?” Fryer said, along with Lily standing beside him. “Uhm,w-we--” Hiccup was cut off when Fryer and Lily laughed.” We’e just messin’ with ya Laddie. Come on, ya don’ want te get cold.” Lily said and opened the door.

My eyes grew bigger,the prefects of each houses,Guy was here and even a few people I know of.We walked in and found ourselves surrounded by a lot of presents.Lily closed the door, and went to sat on the coach with Fryer.”Okay, what the hell is going on??” I asked,”Here my friend, is a party.” Eugene said, and dragged Punzie for a dance.Hiccup and I looked around, some were eating each others faces while others are dancing or drinking and having a blast. “Hey guys! It’s great to see you here.” Astrid said, she wore a native dress that female vikings only wear in case of events.”Come, it’s nice of you to join us.Eep is already 17!” Astrid said.Me and Hiccup looked at each other.”Where’s Merida?” Hiccup asked,”Well, she actually has a performance to put on.So why don’t you guys go and have fun.” Astrid said and left us,me and hiccup then sat down near the Fire place.

My prefect,Scar went up to me and sat down beside me,”You friends with this girls?” he asked, I nodded,”Well, tell them thanks.It’s actually nice for a party.” He said and chugged the drink he had.”Don’t worry, it’s just juice.” Phillip said, sitting down with Aurora, who was gawking at him. Kissing hi from time to time. I rolled my eyes at the scene, get a room. Finally Eep got out of girls dormitory and was greeted with a lot of people. “Merida’s about to start her performance, come. Let’s sit here,We are the VIP.” Eep said, Eugene and Punzie sat down beside her while me and Hiccup looked at each other.”I don’t feel so good about this Jack.” He said, and rubbed his hands from time to time.Finally,Astrid turned off the lights except a light that shone a small stage.”Ladies and Gentlemen.I give you,Merida Dunbroch!” Astrid shouted, everyone was clapping, and so did I.We didn’t see her until she got out of the Girls dormitory, my mouth agape to the sight.

The spotlight then turned to her,everyone gasped, including Hiccup who’s mouth dangling. Merida looked at a phoenix and nodded,It was the a group of phoenix’s cue to start playing the instruments.It was a lullaby, a lullaby I can remember when I was in Scotland.The nostalgia caught me off guard as I followed Merida walk to the small stage. Her hair was tied in a ponytail,her orange-reddish dress that seemed to glisten as the light shine on it.She wore a light make-up,enough to emphasize every little detail of her face.I looked at Hiccup, he was so mesmerized by Merida, he couldn’t look away.Then after the instrumental, merida began to sing.

I looked at her, her eyes glistening.She looked at me, her smile never faded.I took a glance on Hiccup who is now, standing up.Confuse, I didn’t let him stop.

Everyone now was looking at Hiccup, he was walking to the stage,slowly not even breaking his gaze to Merida.

Merida looked at Hiccup, she softened a little, as Hiccup held her hand.Rage was now forming on my throat. I wanted to scream! But I didn’t want to make a scene.

As she finish the song,Merida looked at Hiccup,”Hic? Somethin’ the matta’?” She asked,Hiccup shook his head.And looked at Merida,who was now confuse as me.Hiccup smiled and raised Merida’s arm.”The queen of Scotland!” He shouted and laughed, Merida laughed, punching him in the arm.Everyone joined in,but I didn’t. I needed air,I needed space.I just want to re-think everything. Do i like Merida? or is it just infatuation? Am I really falling for that girl? Questions all over my head as I exit the dorm, little did I know, someone was already following me.

After I got out, I heard footsteps following me."Go away whoever you are!" I shouted not even looking back."Would you want that, jack?" A deep voice said, my eyes grew big and turned around."Pitch."
