This is a tough one. I usually bang out a story in a night and post it otherwise it goes to WIP hell where I open it, reread it, change some words around, and then cry about not being able to add to it and close it. Most stories other than Kolinn stories so far have wound up in this WIP hell, no matter how much I fight with them.
That considered, I am still TRYING to write these, so they, and IOLIWAYMC, are the only fics I could conceivably use for this criteria, and I highly doubt you want to read IOLIWAYMC. So, have this snippet of a WIP that I've been agonizing over for ages. This is from chapter 2 ofβ
No one has to know (the things that make you lose your mind)
Klaus had long since accepted his broken nature, though he hadn't expected to ever have the answer to his long held question. Klaus had held these desires close to his chest, and for good reason, clearly.
The idea was so unthinkable to Elijah heβd actually panicked.
Klaus mulled that over, stretching out on the couch. Heβd only rarely seen Elijah frightened. Full blown panic was something heβd never seen from his brother, and that was the, only, reason Klaus had let Elijah leave.
Heβd returned calm, in a suit heβd probably unpacked from the car, looking immaculate and no nonsense as he always did. He didnβt talk about it and neither did Klaus, the rejection fueling a rage that stole his words. Heβd iced Elijah out the rest of the trip, and he vaguely wished heβd tried to talk then because it was definitely too late to do it now. Elijah left rooms Klaus was in the moment whatever business had brought them together concluded. They hadnβt had a heart to heart, Elijah hadnβt so much as patted his shoulder except with company around, the touch purely for show.
In hindsight, Klaus could have afforded to be kinder in the face of his brotherβs fear. Even thinking so made him crave his brother, crave the approval heβdβve once gotten for even acknowledging such a thing. He didnβt know what heβd get now. Dismissal? Bitter scoffing, perhaps. Either would be better than the nothing at all that echoed in his head.

Camille O'Connell found a way to work around Klaus' compulsion and we do not praise her enough for it. Leaving herself messages and clues, having a tape recorder in her purse, bringing the cypher she and Sean created as kids directly into her sessions with Klaus. He picked it up, questioned her about it, and she lied straight to his face. He had no idea because underestimated her. Didn't check her purse, didn't double check her house for the post it notes, Whether Davina undid the compulsion magically or not, Cami already had an idea of what was going on because of her own determination. We've never seen another human in the tvdu do that and it should be discussed more.
These supernatural beings constantly underestimated Cami because they were more powerful physically yet she was able to lap them mentally or emotionally every time. And every single one of them ended up not only respecting her but verbalizing it.
"I don't get why everyone is so taken with this human-oh shit she tricked me, oh shit she wasn't intimidated, oh she's actually smart, okay I get it!"

I don't want to see anyone become a brimmed hat but boy do I love designing brim hats for everyone. For Richeh I think she would look cool with her crystal ribbons forming the hat, and the scale wolf cloak would compliment it all.
