Elena Gilbert had a doomed fate. it wasnt the first time she had faced near death but this time maybe she will actually die. she doesnt know why, why was she doomed with the face of the past, why did she call her parents to pick her up that day? why did it have to be her that was used in the ritual? why did her aunt have to dragged into all this? why? what had she done to deserve all this? maybe its just time to accept fate and die she thinks.
Elijah had never felt what he felt for any other than the third and last doppelganger. he had tried to push the feelings down but how could he? the way they looked at each other...her compassion...her kindness...her everything. but he was no good for her, thats what pained him the most. she deserved better. but he knew that even if he left the feelings would not go away. He was at least happy that she could live her life human and possibly choose one of the brothers and hopefully have a happy ending. He had made himself clear to his siblings not to touch Elena Gilbert. they would listen right? he was the eldest, they never disobeyed him. noone of his siblings never tried to cross him. even Klaus having his disagreements never dared to cross the line fearing his older brothers anger.
He was driving when he got a call.
"Elijah you can come back, its over he is dead, nik is alive. we are safe!"
a smile found its place on Elijahs face when he heard about his brother being alive but it quickly turned into a frown when he heard about alaric being dead...that would mean...
"Rebekah what did you do?"
"i crashed their car elena and matts car went down wickery bridge"
Elijah quickly stopped the car, he wasnt far off yet he hurriedly got out of the car figuring it would be faster if he ran. he used his original speed in a motion of blur and after a little while he was there he found the younger slavatore already present about to jump in the water. He knew her too well he knew she would insist for matt to be saved first. he didnt have much time to think he jumped he swimmed to where the car was using his original abilities and ripped the car door off its hinges. he found her body but it wasnt moving he scooped her up and sped back out of the water. he put her down on the ground but her body was lifeless.
"elskede please breathe this is all my fault i shouldve known"
"breathe please im begging you breathe"
After a ton of more pleas, stefan puts a hand of his shoulder with tears streamin down on his face "shes gone Elijah"
Elijah feels numb, he nodds and picks up her body and speeds her to the gilbert house.
he puts her on the couch and falls to his knees and the tears just seem streaming down his face unable to stop. he murmers many apologies but sobs more realising she isnt able to forgive him anymore she was truly gone or as he thought she was.
he couldnt even think about anything else all he knew is at the current moment he despised his sister and for the first time he didnt know if she could be forgiven this time. he sobs and cries for what felt like hours but looks up hearing a gasp.
shes not gone. his elena is not gone...but she might be in 24 hours if he fails to convince her otherwise. he knew he would never force her to complete the transition she didnt deserve that. He could not, will not fail to save her. she had shown him being a vampire didnt make him a monster. he would make sure she liked being a vampire and didnt hate herself well that is IF shes willing to be a vampire and he hopes this time she gets her happy ending.....now with him on her side.
