I feel that Simon would feign “>:(“ when his significant other brings his lunch to base or brings him a tea from a coffee shop.
Internally, he’s punching the air at how much he loves you and WILL be showing you how much he loves you for the next 3-5 business days. (He’s an Acts of Service man. I feel it in my BONES)
But, however, I raise you this:
Kyle ‘Cutie Patootie’ Garrick would be so “🥺” by you bringing him a coffee/tea from a cafe to base, he’ll be kicking his feet for the next 3-5 business days after the fact. Everyone in a 3 mile radius of base would know just how lucky he is to have a partner like you.
“Oh where’d I get the coffee? I don’t know for sure. My partner got it for me. I’ll ask him/her/them when I get home.” Type of energy. Just an absolute diva, yanno?
He did the same for you on countless occasions when he’s on leave, but he never expected you to reciprocate anything. So that fact that you, his absolute angel of a partner, decided to take time out of YOUR DAY, to get him a coffee and bring it to base? You shouldn’t have!
But he’s just happy you’re here and can flex on his teammates with how good he has it. He’s already strategizing how to get you with another surprise beverage.
Surprise your loved ones with their favorite beverage. It’s a great past time of mine, personally.
Seeing people start to notice and think more about how Kathy, Nichole, and Rashmi all seeing Rupali as the "designated sane one" negatively affects the group and I think it's interesting.
Rupali has sort of "mothered" some of these characters throughout the story and I think like. There's an idea of the other characters fitting her in this box where she's not allowed to be as flawed or crazy as everyone else.
Then we look at Rupali's perspective where her personal life with Tahani and Kim is a mess. And she's kinda like. Using the fake dating as a relief from that.
Obviously Nichole, and to a slightly lesser extent Rashmi and Kathy (or maybe not a lesser extent maybe I'm bias), are in the wrong for not having the self assurance and/or better judgement to say "Fake dating to piss my ex off is a bad idea, even if Rupali thinks it's a good idea."
But is Ru in the wrong for sort of playing this role of "the sane one?" Or is it just the fault of the people who thrust her into that role?
