These are the gatherings for the next two months: Nemo Gathering - Amsterdam - September 7th Nemo is a cool science museum in Amserdam. Costs
for people with a Stadspas Amsterdam, CJP card, I Amsterdam Card, or Student Card: € 7.50

Wageningen Welcome - Wageningen - September 11th 16.00 Hilde knows there are quite some nerdfighters in Wageningen now, and even more will come to Wageningen at the start of the new schoolyear! Let’s get to know each other during a dinner and have a fun night! De Wereld Van Het Witte De Withkwartier - Rotterdam - September 12th It is an Art/Culture festival in and around the Witte De Withstraat in Rotterdam, I’ve been there before, and I think it’s really cool, it’s 3 days and totally free! Deathly Hallows Part 2 Screening - Amsterdam - September 27th They’re bringing back the Harry Potter, experience the pain of it ending once more! Tristate Event - Maastricht - October 11th Remember the 500MoA, the Dutch and Belgian HPA, the International Gathering, charity? Well We decided to combine ALL OF THESE THINGS. 500 Miles of Awesome is working together with the Dutch and Belgian HPA and HPA Germany for this year’s event. The event comes in three parts, part 1: a scavenger hunt through maastricht, part 2 dinner at the StayOkay Hostel and part 3 a fancy ball. More info on the event and inthis FAQ! These don’t have a date yet: Celebrate all the birthdays Board Game Gathering Assen Gathering Additionally here are some awesome things that happened.
Our very own Anton Olbrechts has participated in and WON a film competition with his video about Gender Roles. He will even get time on the radio, MNM nontheless!
As a subplot of the same competition another Nerdfighter, Margot Vandersmissen, won in a smaller part of that competition with her ‘Gay Best Friend’ video.
Gatherings were threatened by the end of the NS Groupsretour, but fear no more, it stays for another year and a bit. The price was augmented to €55.-
The 500 Miles of Awesome has just gone through their third round of kiva loans. They have once more loaned a total of $1700.00 using kiva.org. You can like them on facebook and follow them on tumblr!

Another year another chance to increase awesome and decrease worldsuck. The 500MoA, the hpagermany and the dutchandbelgianhpa have joined up to create what will hopefully be one of the most memorable gatherings of all time .
The date is the 11th of October 2014 so write it down!
Be prepared because this event comes to you in three parts!
Part 1: TriState Tournament! Raise money for charity by sponsored donations from your peers and for awesome in an amazing Scavenger hunt through the beautiful Maastricht.
Part 2: A Great Feast! No fighting worldsuck without proper fuel after the Tournament, dinner will be provided.
Part 3: The Ball! As with any great event gathering nations a ball of proper proportions is a must. There will be a fancypants ball at the StayOkay hostel in Maastricht. The profits of the ball will be added to the donations towards charity!
The charities we have chosen to support are War Child and SOS Children’s Villages!

Collab between 500MoA and the German + Dutch&Belgian HPA Chapters
Hello everyone, it’s been a while since we updated but don’t you guys worry. We are in fact not dead not sleeping ;)
More so, we’ve been in touch with a few nerdfighters and none other that the dutchandbelgianhpa AND hpagermany to organise a joint event!
We don’t have much information yet, but we can tell you it’s gonna be one hell of an awesome gathering!
Dearest friends, In our capacity of charitable do-gooders for the Dutch & Belgian Nerdfighter community, we have had the pleasure to work with and for Nerdfighters to help decrease Worldsuck throughout this globe of ours. Our founding members dragged the 500MoA initiative into the light of being almost two years ago now, on May 20th, 2012. SO OUR BIRTHDAY IS COMING UP! What does this mean? Why, we’re celebrating, of course! What kind of celebrations? The kind with PRESENTS Presents for whom? Since we’re into the whole charity thing, ALL PRESENTS FOR ALL OF US … Okay, WHAT are you talking about? Well, we were hoping to celebrate our birthday with a Nerdfighter gift exchange, as a present to each other. So we thought about launching a form of Secret Gift Exchange. Everyone buys or creates something for someone, and we all get a random present from a random person! How will it work? Well, here is a lovely little form where you can join the Exchange of Great Gifts in Secret: http://dft.ba/-8vMi. After this is filled out, we will match you and your info with someone else, and you get to make a gift for them! We’d like to keep the gifts awesome AND affordable, so we ask to spend a maximum of 5€ on your present (or make something yourself! The best gift you can give is your time :) ). In order to give our data-crunching gnomes a little time to work, we’re closing the form on Monday, April 20. Be sure to apply beforehand (and convince all the people)! Afther their crunch time, the gnomes will send out e-mails to all participants. Expect to receive one at the beginning of May. Kiva: the story continues!
Lords and/or ladies, Our first round of Kiva loans has ended, and we are the proud owners of our money again, after it’s helped people with less opportunity than us to fulfill some of their wishes. After much duly deliberate debating, we finally settled on what to do with the monies, which became, of course, moar Kiva loans! Before we all get to bathe in the glory that is Kiva and its microloan possiblities, we want to take a minute and thank you and everyone you coerced, conquered, commanded, or otherwise convinced to donate their hard-earned dough to help us fight Worldsuck. We truly are grateful. We redistributed our Kiva money among no less than thirteen different Kiva loans, helping people realize (parts of) their dreams. All from the kindness of your hearts. Dearest sleep-crazed P4A followers (and others), THE P4A IS HAPPENING WAAAAAAAAH!! For those not in the know yet, we explained what P4A entails in yesterday's Facebook post, where we also casually mentioned our own P4A video. Now, TFaC is taking part in something called #GivingTuesday. What is this, you ask? Well, some very nice Americans decided we needed a day for giving back. They already have a day for being thankful (you know which one that is), and they thought giving back should be part of the process.
So, these people teamed up with the United Nations Foundation (and others) to create Giving Tuesday, which is December 3rd. That’s this Tuesday!
In honour of the initiative, TFaC is donating $0.10 for EVERY new user who joins before Tuesday. And, they’re donating to Taiphoon Haiyan Disaster Relief through Actions Against Hunger in the Philippines! We all know those people really need our help, and TFaC is on the case.
They hope to gather 5000 new Tabbers by then, and they’re at just under 1200 as of this writing.
500MoA kindly asks you guys to help them out, and install the extension. It costs you nothing, and you automatically give back to several charities through ad revenue TFaC makes. Plus, if you install it before Tuesday, they will donate to Haiyan Disaster Relief on your behalf! That makes NOW one of the greatest times to help out.
Please consider this great charity, and the #GivingTuesday initiative. Support if if you want, and get the word out wherever you can!
We could all give back a little at the start of the season where we all receive so much from our loved ones.
