Creating an arbitrary tertiary labeling system! For modern terts only! for fun! i was going to label these "Cheap" and "Expensive" but I'm instead going to use "Treasure" and "Gem" even though the Treasure ones aren't all from the treasure marketplace, (they include Baldwin, coli drop, etc.), because the other way seemed judgmental lol
The largest category, these are non-color-changing genes that (other than perhaps an extremely subtle shade-gradient) do not change color. Often features transparency gradients which can introduce different colors when overlaid on the base color. Sometimes affected by the "Lucky Colors", those that have built-in color-changing elements like Copper, Spring, Orca, etc. Okapi is a bit of an outlier because it technically could be considered "Shiny" (based on these categories) due to its stripes but I think it goes here. Interestingly, Lace sometimes rarely (and on seemingly random colors) features a color change inside the diamondy part of the lace, but it's so rare (but visible above on the color I'm using for this, Cerulean!) that I'm putting it in this category anyway.
Treasure Matte Color-Change
These terts introduce a Matte Color-Change. They have all the features of the Matte Simple terts, but there's another color in there! This is a very good category. Make more of them. Make one that is just Underbelly but with a color changing throat gradient. Please please please
some (but not all) of these Shiny terts are affected by Lucky Colors that have built-in color-changing elements (like Copper, Lapis, Orca). Flecks rarely has a color change in the literal Shine, seen above on Cerulean with the green shine, but it's rare. Normally, these are just the regular color made to be "shiny" using various shades of the color instead of transparency gradients.
Treasure Shiny Color-change
An interesting case is Capsule, which generally is just a typical Treasure Shiny Simple tert with different shades of one color, but includes a "glass" element. It also has a few pretty exciting examples, including colors that aren't typically "Lucky" (like Fire, shown on the right). It also tends to make the color a unique, glassy version of itself, except that for most colors it's usually pretty un-exciting. (ex. Cerulean and Carrot, pictured above on Obsidian.) However, the only reason this tert gets to be "Color-Change" instead of just "Simple" is because of the (usually white) "empty glass" portion.
