Call me anything you want but I haven’t had respect for Goose since the pilot. I haaated how she interacted so weird and flippantly with her fans and didn’t change her behavior at all when given a platform as big as Glitch. I cannot FATHOM having a million eyes on you and still choosing to publicly talk about your kinks and fetishes like you’re still a sicko nobody. Maybe I don’t know enough of what it’s like to be a professional but it seemed super irresponsible to me. What icks me WORSE is how she was very open about hating her characters and resenting how popular they got (things did go out of control I imagine it would have been stressful for anyone!) and still showing off her fanart collection with a pretty substantial corner of it being NSFW. I just don’t trust anyone with such a distaste for their own creation that also isn’t shy about gooning to their characters to write anything at all with a good heart. I know that’s not terribly incriminating but knowing all that I’m not surprised AT ALL that her weird interactions with minors are coming to light. I’m sorry if you want to believe in the better nature of people and artists but if something seems disturbing at a glance then there are usually worse things going on less publicly. She has no standards for how she interacts with young people and this is something she has PUBLICLY ADMITTED ON X. And there’s no remorse for it, if you’re wondering! Giving some creep an outlet and a platform isn’t a win for indie animation. Giving someone who can’t stop themselves from making weird comments about women an outlet and a platform isn’t a win for women. I don’t even see how it’s a win for trans people that the rep is an abusive character who killed herself that is ACTUALLY AND LITERALLY a self-insert for a pedo racist freak groomer. Genuinely what was the point of all that.
