I feel like there's something powerfully compelling about what Ralsei's experienced as of the new chapter along with their end of chapter descriptor of "Watering their own thorns". Even if that's not something you necessarily wanna draw, I'm curious on your thoughts there.

In my opinion that line is probably about denial and self acceptance.
Throughout ch5 we see Flowery try to coax Ralsei to be more open with himself, to not deny what he can do and to live more freely, but Ralsei denies that acceptance so much that it gets to the point where he outwardly says that he doesn't even want things "to be this way", even though I don't think he planned to ever give voice to that.
I think because of the denial of what he is (whatever this impossibility is) and what he can do (probably manipulate the world like Flowery does, maybe even more), in a way he's caging himself into this role he's taken up, the "Prince" role and because he is unwilling to let go of that the moment someone who challenges it shows up (Flowery ofc) he becomes prickly.
Ralsei denies himself being anything that isn't "A Prince" and it's hurting him.
The more he denies what he wants the more his thorns are watered. That's how I see it!
And ofc, you can say the same thing about gender expression, not just the prophecy stuff.
The moment I saw ch 5 would be Japanese themed I knew I had to draw her as a yuki-onna. I went with a traditional wedding kimono because well that's what you do when you have a ring.
A fun fact for this kind of outfit, the headpiece the "Tsunokakushi" is said to be hiding a bride's "horns" of anger, jealousy, or other negative qualities, in order to present a more virtuous image for the wedding.
I genuinely shake in fear when I think what might be in store for this poor girl.

Recently I've been replaying DELTARUNE and I remembered seeing all these fun concepts of what the SOUL might look like in the dark world if it was outside the Cage. This is my take on it.
I had a lot of fun experimenting with a more cartoony art style, it's really nothing like what I usually do and I'm constantly in awe of people who can make more simple lines feel so balanced. It took me forever to end up with something I enjoyed. I wanted to make a design that could be both funny and unsettling. The pixelated variations were made with Sora's Pixel Converter.

Toby Fox games mean a lot to me. I only started really using tumblr to post art after playing UNDERTALE over 10 years ago. For all the faults the communities that popped up back then, I felt really happy sharing my (really bad) doodles with other people who loved the game. It made me realise posting art online had the ability to connect me to other people. For someone as lonely as I was back then it meant a lot. I wonder if anyone who still follows me remembers those old UT doodles? I look forward to playing ch 5, I love Kris, Susie and Ralsei so much.
