not everyone who has DID is faking but there are tons of kids who do fake DID online because it is currently popularized as a fun kinning and roleplay world on tiktok (and hence a huge amount of misinformation is spread). misinfo about a real disorder that influences teens to pretend to have it so they can get out of taking responsibility "it was my alter that says racial slurs not me!" Is way more of a problem than someone saying that what they are doing is not genuine or representative of the actual disorder.
