One Game A Day

Super Mario 3D World surprised me for being on the must play list. In modern times I constantly hear people saying that both this, and 3D land aren’t good. I heavily disagree. If you are trying to look for faults, this game will have them in spades. If you just want to relax though, then this is the game to do that in. I recommend getting a friend or two as well, that way you can do the co-op multiplayer which is a blast and even more chaotic than nsmbw.

I can not begin to describe my love for this simple game. The artstyle is superb, every menu looks like something from windows 98 and it's all made to an absolutely gorgeous soundtrack. Words can not explain how good this game is. If you enjoy old computers and also enjoy games like Hypnospace Outlaw, this is a must play. Even if you don't, try it out.

The Deepest Sword is a hard game, but luckily not that long. This game really teaches that size doesn't matter much though. At it's core, it's another type of getting over it game, but I think the length of it makes it more enjoyable for me than getting over it. I ended up finishing the game in 15 minutes and I think that's standard. Its a fun game for those who enjoy rage games like this, but also people who just like small games with a lot of personality. The game is free on steam and even playable on browsers, give it a go if you haven't already.

If you have ever played a paradox game, you know that they're all like abusive exs. You love them a lot, but then they do something pretty bad and you stop talking to them for a while, but then immeietaly come back. That's how I feel about every Paradox Interactive game at least. I love Prison Architect a lot, I would say it's one of my favorite city builders. However, while the base game is fine on it's own, It can be really easy sometimes and at times you just want a harder experience with these. So that's why they have Steam Workshop support, but then sometimes that overwhelms you and it makes you want a simpler experience. I love this game, I wish it were a little more challenging, especially with how prisoners almost barely even attempt to escape. It's a good game, but I only really see myself coming back to it every year or so.

I have technically played Bioshock before, so I was happy to return to it, but upon loading my save I realized I must've decided to prank my future self by saving in the middle of combat. I had no idea what was going on, but I somehow did manage to get a good sembelence of the plot and what I needed to do. I was at Neptune's Bounty and had to just try my absolute best to run past a turret. I ended up making it to the end of smugglers den, but didn't really continue after that. Bioshock is such a good game, especially for those who enjoy exploration games like this. If you've ever wanted a game taking place underwater, pick up bioshock

Forager is a game somewhat reminiscent of Terraria, Factorio, and Minecraft. That being said, it's also vaguely reminiscent of Geometry Dash in it's ability to never get an update. The game is kinda average at most things. This leads to the entire game feeling like just leveling up and doing tasks. The game also tends to be really odd for no reason at all. For example, to start getting leather, you need hide. You get hide from animals, but most of the time, even if you wait 30 minutes, you won't get any animals. The game is good if you want a small experience and you enjoy games like these. It's not really my cup of tea, but I think it's not the worst game we've played by far.

A few days ago I had to play Halo 2, I didn't enjoy it. This though, was different in every way. It keeps the cool duel wield from Halo 2, and I enjoyed the difficulty even though I was rushing. The final area of the first mission was amazing. I still haven't even completed the original Halo, but I am going to be sure to be hype once I get here.

To preface, I have never played a table top rpg. I have wanted to, but never have gotten the chance. That being said, Pillars of Eternity perfectly encapsulates what I feel I'd want from a tabletop. The atmosphere is eerie and disturbing, and the game has no holds barred. I played on easy, but I can tell on harder difficulties this game is brutal. The only problem I ran into was the fact that occasionally the footsteps sound would be extra loud on certain characters for no reason. I'd say that if you are looking into playing a TTRPG and don't have the build or funds for something like Baldur's Gate, Pillars of Eternity would definitely scratch that itch.

TimeSplitters 2 is an odd piece of work. I only played around the first 3/4 of the first mission and ended up dying to something small which reset about 30 minutes of progress. Though, that's not to say it wasn't enjoyable. The combat was amazingly fun, the models looked very good, and it was a challenging game. I found the controls odd, however I was playing on the gamecube release so that would explain it. In total, I think this is a good game, but it definitely feels as if it needs Save States.

Oh god, where do i begin. I didn't get to play much past the first few enemies due to both my pc heating up to the point where it will heat me this winter and the fact that I died since I wasn't trying to kill anyone. The game insinuates that something ends up happening if you get through the game without killing anyone, so I attempted that and it was horrible. Granted, I played on keyboard due to lack of time. I also noticed a trend that this game has that is an instant turn off, enemy levels with damage numbers. The best example of this can be seen in games like Destiny 2 and no matter what, these games always make me lose interest quickly. I also found the running animation really goofy so that's both good and bad. I think if you enjoy the dark souls series along with dishonored, this game would be up your alley.

Super Meat Boy is a fantastic game, It's simple, but difficult at the same time. However, that's the original game. Super Meat Boy Forever feels like Team Meat watched a bunch of Super Mario World Kaizos and made a game based on them. To make it all worse, the movement is based off of Super Mario Run. This means that you can not stop running ever. Overall, this game is not fun to play. The most fun part of this game was the boss which actually felt fun and challenging, but still didn't quite feel like Super Meat Boy.

Factorio is such a good game with an atmosphere that makes horrrified at night. The best way I can describe this is like the Create mod. I don't understand a thing, but that's a lot of the fun! I enjoyed it a good bit, but I think I like Shapez more due to it's difficulty. A fantastic game overall though
