Okay, here’s a list: a list of the top THREE restaurants I would like to visit upon returning to Spokane-- places that deserve a first look! I’m excited to get started, analyzing and understanding the food scene at home (and perhaps one day, abroad)!!

1) Zona Blanca Ceviche

I have heard and seen so much from this restaurant that opened just a short while ago, but I have NEVER BEEN!!! Such a sad state of affairs that I’d like to rectify SOON. Also, do I have it correct that this is a mainly seafood-serving establishment. This’ll be new...

2) Grill From Ipanema - CDA

This place sounds amazing-- Brazilian foods, meat on sticks/skewers, and the necessity for a day-trip out to CDA. So exciting! Now if the waiters can be Brazilian, too, I’ll be overjoyed! :-D I don’t really know how food/meat prep differs in that country, so this could very well be a learning experience...

3) Fleur De Sel - Post Falls

Fleur holds a special place in my heart as a local food critic told me about it months ago for an interesting date idea that didn’t end up happening. I’d like to go and try it out-- the website food photos look AMAZING and French cuisine holds a special place in my heart! More butter = more joy. Can’t wait!!!

Alright, so those are my #goals, and I will update you as to when/if they come to fruition. Searching for all my hometown foodies! #SpokaneSupperClub

Listening to “Mighty To Save” by Laura Story

The photo above was taken at J.W. Marriott’s Desert Springs Rockwood Grill. Omg, the views of the fountains outside, water reflecting on the building’s facade-- these were the perfect accompaniment to freshly (still warm) baked bread as well as this DELICIOUS kale salad with perfectly-grilled chicken to accompany it.

Negative: this place suffered from the color palate of moderate hotel decor-- lots of browns and forest greens...

Positive: the staff here went the extra mile, packing my leftover food for me, being honest while chivalrous while giving recommendations and NOT EVEN minding that I brought my Starbucks cup in!!

Oh, my gosh. My final full day in Palm Springs!!! :)

Today is dedicated to self-care, first and foremost. I have a lot of work coming up to greet me when I head back to Spokane, and only one vacation planned thus far for next April (headed to Atlanta). Gotta prepare myself!

I have a full day of poolside lounging ahead. Now to find an Americano... Have a great day-- I’m sure some of you are doing EVEN MORE interesting things than I am. I’d love to hear about them... ;)

Sitting here in the Palm Springs heat, negotiated by a lot of conditioned air, I am thinking about nothing.

“Our president” just dis-allowed trans service people from working in the military... Does this mean anything?

I read some Facebook comments on the topic-- disheartening, to say the least! Why does it matter what people say on those threads? Ignorance spreads faster than intellect, though it doesn’t really do much positive for the world.

Just messaging tonight from an undisclosed location... Feeling kind-of fine and full of Carne Asada fries!

We ate well today as it’s Taco Tuesday, but I fear that tonight’s dreams will be full of nightmarish potential, spicy as our food was. ;)

Let me tell you about what wasn’t nightmarish. Went to the Ace Hotel tonight with my friend Maria, we drank rum & cokes with maraschino cherries and sang along to karaoke.

Some of it was bad, some of it was not... The point was, we sang along... Cheering along our “friends,” from near and far. Met a Swedish woman from far off wearing a second-hand dress from Spain that I complimented, as well as a skinny wastrel from U.S.A. who hugged me twice. :)
