[Widowmaker x Female! Reader]

‘’Amélie,'’ You mumble as you start to open your eyes next to her, still half asleep. ‘’Yes, ma chérie?’’ she replies. You roll over to face her, lips upturned in a soft smile. ‘’Merry Christmas!’’ you murmur as you get out of bed groggily, to make your special breakfast. She frowns to herself in bed, missing your immense warmth. She buries herself in the duvet and decides to try and sleep.

As you walk towards the kitchen you remembered that you had run out of milk after the huge night of baking you had done. So, you told Amélie that you were going to the store. On your way to the store you recognised a dear friend - Angela Ziegler! She greeted you and wished you a Merry Christmas and you replied accordingly. You were in a rush though, so before she could start light conversation, you tapped your watch, walked past and prayed she understood.

You finally got there after some notable amount of time had passed. You relaxed, gently meandering around the store, enjoying your walk to the dairy aisle. ‘’Damn, they’re out of milk.’’ You think to yourself, looking at the empty milk shelves. Not knowing what to do you just made a hefty trip to another store. Luckily, they had milk so you grabbed 2 jugs and rushed home. 

"Amelie? I am home!’’ You call out.

"Bienvenue à la maison," Amélie whispered, walking up to you. You asked her if she'd like crêpes for breakfast, and eagerly agreed - well… in her own way, softly nodding with the slightest of smiles. Hand in hand, you made your way to the kitchen. Amelie gracefully seats herself at the table, absentmindedly reading a local newspaper, her eyes tracing over the words effortlessly. She was never much for talking, and you were okay with that.

You take time to admire her serene beauty. It is often overlooked by many by the glaring colour of her skin, or her figure that catches their attention. You loved everything about Amelie, despite the way she may appear and the things she had done in her dark past. You loved the way her lips slightly parted every time she felt something familiar. You loved the way she shared small smiles with you. She was becoming the Amelie she used to be. Just very slowly, one step at a time. And you were willing to be by her side to support her through all of it. To see it.

You had gotten so absorbed into your daydream that you didn't notice your crêpes were burning and on fire - and Amelie tending to them, dousing them under water. She quickly set the pan aside, rushing to you. "Mon cœur, are you alright?" She cupped your face with her hand, gently brushing a thumb over your skin. "Do you have any burns? Are you hurt?" She asked her voice hushed and syrupy, honey irises gazing into your own. Alluring. "Please, you must be more careful, mon amour. I cannot lose you." Her tone betrayed the true meaning of her words, monotone and bleak. Yet still, you were absolutely captivated. She was so gentle at heart, yet.. so ruthless out on the field.

Amelie had you wrapped around her finger. 

Feeling risky, you decided to do something you hadn't done in a long time. You placed a hand on top of hers, feeling the chill of her skin. "I'm sorry, Amelie. I will do my best for you." You leaned in, slowly tilting your head. Amelie stood still as she allowed you to go ahead. You pressed your lips to hers gently, feeling small waves of pleasure travel up and down your spine and veins. She was cold, but her lips were ever soft and inviting.

You pulled away, and you felt Amelie hesitate. She hadn't had a kiss at all since her murder of Gerard. She had forgotten how intimate it was. It was enough to evoke some kind of emotion in her. Foreign for years, but felt so familiar.

Love.

[Elizabeth Caledonia Ashe x Female Reader]

You’d been sent by Morrison with Ashe to just tackle a “small” issue down at Route 66. Talon operatives had been tampering with the payload contents, and possibly a top secret and highly valuable project. You’d been scouring the scene for a while alongside Ashe and B.O.B. To be honest, you did find B.O.B kind of cute. He didn’t speak much, but the little gestures he did were pretty heart melting.

The main attraction to you was Ashe. She was fierce, strong, loyal, fearless and absolutely gorgeous. She was the boss. Knew exactly what she wanted and would get it whenever she wanted. You best obey or be begging for mercy. Bright, blood red eyes, lush and soft white hair cut perfectly to adorn her features, and the cowgirl outfit was a neat plus. You adored her accent, her little ways of talking brought you so much unknown joy. You just had to tell her.. somehow. But for now, the mission was what you had to think about.

Ashe had her Viper slung over her shoulder, impatiently kneeling, waiting for some action to happen. “Oh for Christ’s sake, are them Talon hooligans here or not? I’m wastin’ my time here. I could be with the gang right now.”

You hushed her, pointing towards the payload. She gave you a dirty look - Ashe was the boss, she didn’t like being bossed around. Several soldiers and four prominent agents were there - Sombra, Moira, Reaper and Widowmaker - all examining the payload. The huge white pod in the middle was their main focus, they seemed immeasurably fixated on it. Must be hugely valuable, otherwise Talon would have disregarded it long ago.

“Look there, Ashe - they’re talking about it, let’s listen.” You managed to pick up a few scraps of their conversation.

“Those Overwatch freaks haven’t come here yet, are you sure they don’t have an ambush ready?” Sombra spoke, messing around with her virtual keyboard.

“Even if they are here, we can handle them. We can’t let this end up like the museum. The boss wants this.” Reaper spoke. "You’d better not mess around, Sombra.” He spat. "I won't go easy on you next time." Sombra scoffed, knowing he wouldn't dare. They needed her.

“Stop fighting, you two. Does nothing run on time in this place? Where is the dropship?” Moira broke the tension. She let out a dreaded sigh, rubbing her temples in frustration. “Even with something this valuable, Talon forces are still late. Unbelievable.” She pressed a finger into her ear, muttering a few code words, waiting for a reply, impatiently tapping her foot. Gingerly, she grimaced, pinching the bridge of her nose. “We’re going to have to move the payload ourselves. Let’s go.” She motioned towards the cargo.

As the Talon soldiers marched their way to the payload, Ashe was raring to go. "Come on, (Y/N)! Aren't we gon’ attack them? Ain't that our job, doll?" B.O.B shot you a curious look as he tipped his small fedora. You felt your cheeks slightly pricked with warmth at the mention of the pet name 'doll.' You almost don't notice Ashe getting up and jumping away, followed by her butler. "Oh, Ashe, wait-" You whisper-yelled, whipping your arm out to grab her by the shoulder. But it's too late, she had already jumped off your vantage point and into the spotlight. You jump in after her hesitantly, wanting to have called backup first, as you were  outnumbered and in need of a medic in the fight, but you assumed she’d need some back-up. 

She slung the Viper over her shoulder, raising her head to show her piercing, blood red eyes from beneath her oversized cowboy hat. She smirked, a cocky demeanour overcoming her. "They say there's no honour among thieves. But that's not how things work around here. Y'all are in my territory now. And you better pray for mercy. Welcome to Deadlock Gorge!" She screams loudly, running towards the payload, claiming it for herself. You run after her having her back, but before you even got close to her, you heard something.

"Apagando las luces!" Sombra yells before hacking you from behind. You squeal upon hearing that line. You look behind you and there she is. Before you could do anything she’d already shot at you, and you do your best to dodge the steady stream of bullets pouring out of her SMG. She chases you around, isolating you from both B.O.B and Ashe. 

You were in serious trouble. She ends up cornering you, and as you back up against the wall, you hear, "Luces apagadas, perdedor." She was gonna try and take your life. You close your eyes, your nose scrunched as you awaited the sweet release of death. But it doesn't come. Instead, you hear explosions, several bullets being fired, and Ashe screaming, "Bob, do something!"

Ashe noticed you were missing from the battlefield. You weren't with B.O.B, neither were you anywhere near other Talon operatives. She noticed the funky looking purple agent had gone missing too. She didn't like the sound of this. Better not have been what she was thinking. She wouldn't forgive herself at all if she lost you. She threw in her dynamite, letting it do the work for her, ('snuffing 'em outta there,' as she puts it) as she whistles for Deadlock Gang members to come and help and orders B.O.B around. As the smoke clears, you see that Reaper and Moira are yelling for a tactical retreat, leaving the payload. It would be top risky to try and push it with the Deadlock Gang around. Their yells resound in your ears, and you hear the swift click-clack of heels near you.  

"I believe you have somethin' that belongs to me. Put the gun down and me and my doll will be on our way." A low, familiar voice spoke - Ashe! She had come to your rescue, thank God. You opened your eyes and let out a huge breath that you didn't even know you were holding. Sombra was frozen in place, and the cowgirl was pointing her Viper at the back of Sombra's head. You jumped at the opportunity to take your double barrel scattergun and point it at her as well. She laughed in your face, mocking you as she pressed a few buttons on her suit. Her smile quickly dropped.

Ashe chuckled lowly. "Lookin' for this?" She dropped Sombra's broken translocator onto the ground, smashing it further with her heel. It released a satisfying crunch, and you saw Sombra's eyes fill with despair. "Give up and walk away, missy. Reach for the sky."

"You're not going anywhere anyway, so you might as well give up, Sombra." You chimed in, feeling a little awkward. You were nowhere near as cool as Ashe. Your fingers were steadily set on the trigger, ready to shoot. 

With a swipe of her fingers and hand, the purple glitch vanished right in front of your eyes, and you heard a low chuckle and a small touch on your nose. Clearly hers. Ashe cursed under her breath, frantically looking around, fumbling to try and locate where Sombra could have gone. "God fucking damnit! Lost her. Damn Talon soldiers… No good tricksters.." Her fiery gaze met yours and was extinguished. She flashed a warm, bright smile. "Come on, darlin', we've got a victory to secure." 

She wrapped an arm around you comfortably, as if to keep you close to her to keep you safe from any sort of harm. You weren't complaining, Ashe was the best thing to come into your life since you joined Overwatch back in the glory days.

Now, if only you could tell her that.

This wretched place. This cursed castle. Two years of rich, livid history lived within these walls, the history of the Shimada clan. 

The battle that changed everything emptied this place. The two brothers - Genji and Hanzo Shimada - It shook the entire district of Hanamura, and ended in one of the brothers, Genji’s demise.

So today, you had come here to pay your respects to him. A worthy friend. Your eyes gazed before the mural that centred the courtyard of the castle. A corner had been cut, saturated in dried blood, the legendary blood of Genji.

As you walk closer to the mural, you hear something… Soft, quiet footsteps, trying to mask themselves. Someone else was here. No, someone was creeping up behind you. You look behind you, but nothing was there. ‘’What was that?"’ You think to yourself, pondering who it could possibly have been. No-one should have returned here, not ever. This horrid place should have been rid of any living creature, not even the omnics dare to go near it - thinking the battle that went on still curses everything that goes near. It should have been burnt to a crisp years ago.

You walk into the courtyard, warm, salty tears trailing down your face because of what had happened. You peacefully sit down against a wall, you grab a canvas and a paint brush and start painting in the castle. Another annual tribute to Genji. You thought everything was fine, and that everything is safe.. Until another sound gets made… It sounds like.. Human footsteps? They really do not want to be noticed, weird. You brush it off as the wind, thinking it was too quiet.. But oh boy, you were wrong. You feel as if someone was watching you. And that’s when it happened - An arrow, it flew right besides your head, gracing your hair. You quickly try to get up, but something stops you. The intruder had grabbed you firmly by the shoulder.

You turn your head and then it happened. You were face to face with the legendary (not) brother, Hanzo. He had grown from his past image. He had a beard now, well kept, and he had a small put atop his head, a ribbon laced around it. You muster up the courage ask him, ‘’Wh-what do you want from me?’’ In a shaky voice, fear betraying your tone.

‘’Why are you here?’’ He asks, sternly. You’re absolutely terrified, shaken up by fear, too much to answer him, and try to run away, but it doesn’t work. His grip tightens, his voice gets more serious, his face angry. His gaze burns deeply into your eyes, wanting a direct and honest answer. He wasn’t going to let you go easily. You weren’t stupid. You finally replied with ‘’Why would you care..? You killed your own brother! Forsaken him, brought immense dishonour to your family, Hanzo. Do you feel no remorse? Why would you protect this place?’’ He sighs deeply. Not answering your question, not saying anything at all. He looks at you, deeply, trying to figure out your intent. ‘’Well? Tell me!’’ You shout. ‘Fuck, why did I say that?’ You thought to yourself. 

Quite suddenly, his demeanour changes. His look changes to that of sorrow, his grip on you weakening. He let go of you, taking a moment to sit at the mural. You joined him, still cautious. “I come here annually to grieve the death of my brother. To reflect on the damage and dishonour I have brought. I did not expect to see anyone else here. Especially for the same reason as I. I will ask you again. Why are you here?”

You swallowed your bated breath, finally deciding to give an honest answer. He seemed genuine with you. You threw your head down, exhaling deeply. “I come here whenever I can to pay my respects to your brother, Genji. He was a dear friend to me. He was there for me when no-one else was. When I needed someone the most. That is why I can never let go of this place. You may see him as a playboy or a laid back fool, Hanzo, but he was far from that. He just didn’t want anything to do with the clan. Is that so wrong?” You say longingly, patiently waiting for an answer. “Answer me, Hanzo. Is that so wrong?” You say, raising your voice once more. You wanted to know so desperately why this man had killed your only and dearest friend.

Hanzo looked at you. With tears in his eyes and remorse in his voice, he spoke, voice barely above a whisper. He couldn’t control his sobs. ‘’I can only apologise, even though it may never change the past.. Killing my brother was my biggest mistake, my biggest regret, my biggest pain. It should have been me who passed away that night. It should have been me, it should have been me! I’m a mistake, I’m a disgrace, I’m a cold hearted murderer. Just because my brother wanted to live his own life away from our misdeeds.. Genji, forgive me..’’ Ending that sentence in tears all over. 

You look at him, angrily, but forgivingly. You realise he truly regrets his misdeed. So you decide to comfort him. You hesitantly wrap your arms around him, gently squeezing, as he relaxes into you, tears staining your skin, saying, ‘’Hanzo, I know you regret your past. And what you did was truly unforgivable. But you have to accept what happened to truly accept yourself and make it onto the path of redemption. The bittersweet release of death will never make up for Genji’s passing. But you can make up by doing good, helping the ones who need help.’’

It was then, that everything started to make sense to Hanzo. He needed you, he could not bear to feel this emptying loneliness any longer. He had to forbid you from leaving him.This feeling was foreign to him. Hanzo did not confess, people confessed to him. It was a new feeling, one he could not cope with. He was too stubborn to admit this feeling would defeat him. You part ways before he could say anything else.

He sat in the bar, drowning his feelings in sake. It wasn’t strong enough to mute everything in his mind. But he could not stop thinking about you. No matter what he did, who he talked to. All that was on his mind was you. He had never felt like this ever before, so he had no idea what the hell to do or how to express these feelings. He’d see you around Hanamura, but did not know how to approach or strike up conversation. So, all he could think of... was going to the castle. Hoping and praying he would see you there again, so he could talk to you. But his attempt was hopeless. You never came, not a single time for 2 months. But he would not give up, he never would, remaining steadfast. Even after these 2 months it was only you that was in this mind. Despite all that, life still went on.

Another month passed.

Another two.

A year had gone by.

The day of Genji’s death had come once again, and he had firm hope you’d be at the castle to pay your respects to the younger Shimada. And there you were, finally after a year. He’d see you again. Except, you weren’t alone. You were with someone. You were holding hands. You embraced that person when you couldn’t hold back tears. He had almost given up completely… Until they left. You were all alone again, so you went back to the courtyard. Back to the exact spot where you met Hanzo. Back to the arrow that was still in the wall. You once again grabbed your unfinished painting from last year and your brushes. 

As you sat down, you started painting the castle once again.. But something was different. There was no sound, not even the sound of wind. Nothing. You sighed very deeply, disappointed that you did not see him.. The one person you wanted to see all this time. When you finished the painting, you heard a voice. The voice said, ’’You have mastered a skillful art. Where did you learn to paint like that?’’ You recognise that voice. With a smile on your face you turn around to see him. He was standing right there. He hadn’t changed a bit. Like he hadn’t aged at all. ‘’I hoped I would see you here.’’ Hanzo said longingly, hoping for a reaction back. ‘’I… I waited a year for you, why did you never come…?’’ You say.

 With a frown on his face he sat down next to you. As he explained everything to you, you got closer to him. To the point you were basically touching each other… Without thinking twice you wrap your arms around him once again, saying, ‘’I’m so sorry. I never knew you didn’t know how to tell me… I should have come to you, Hanzo. I saw you all over Hanamura, yet never thought once to approach, thinking you had better things to do. I regret my hesitation greatly. It’s all okay now, you’ve told me everything.’’ 

‘’Hanzo.. I know we don’t know each other at all. But I genuinely feel like… Like we have known each other for years.. And I just don’t want to leave you again. It hurt so much last time.. So, promise me.. You won’t leave me this time? Stay by my side, be happy with me…’’ You say with a concerned voice. 

‘’I promise.’’ he mutters.
