This probably isn't going to change people's minds, but sometimes it is easier to evoke sympathy for dogs than it is to evoke sympathy for trans folks.
Giving money to J.K.Rowling is the same as giving money to eradicate transgender people. I'm sorry, but it's true. Equivocate all you like, but it's as true as the day is long.
to the “just pirate it!” crowd:
if you’re going to steal it you need to look in the eye the problematic aspects that are baked into the books. you can take the book money out the bigot (‘s hands) but you can’t take the bigot out the book
that and don’t go talking about how good it is because chances are someone will pay full price for a copy of the books. and it makes you look like a bigot
