And it's usually fun for both parties!

Like one time in Austria, during a school trip, me and a group of girls were searching for places that sold water (for a reasonable price). We stumbled across this couple, so we asked them and the guy told us to ask a nearby hotel for a cup of water. Also, he told us to ask if they get a lot of customers at their bar because he was looking for a job there.

Nobody could speak proper enough english to get a point across and we were too shy and weirded out to just walk into like a 4 star hotel and beg for a cup of water.

When i first went to the US to study at age 23 i was aghast at how pristine drinking water was being used to wash cars, maintain pointless lawns and even flush toilets?!

Meanwhile my everyday life in Chennai literally revolves around ensuring steady supply of contaminated, non-drinking water to my apartment in this unincorporated neighborhood, and for clean drinking water im forced to rely on daily delivery of giant plastic jugs up 4 flights of stairs (the delivery workers are fickle but honestly who can blame them?)

And mind you, this is the reality for people who possess a great deal of relative social and economic capital in this country...i surely don't need to paint the picture for how gruelling and tough life is for majority of Indians

To top it off, global data centers are scaling to a point where their water consumption will rival the survival needs of billions
