where i’m from, we were occupied by nazis during world war too. our government let it happen. Ordinary citizens banded together in reponse to leaked info, and got 95% of our jewish population out of our country. We fought for our freedom, even though it was dangerously, even though it would risk our own safety and the safety of our family. Ordinary citizens. So frankly, whenever countries end up authoritarian, i DO see it as being everyone living there’s fault that it got like that, and everyone’s fault that it continues to be that way. I frankly think Americans are pathetic for whining about politics while doing fuck all about it other than complain and occasionally throw rocks. If you do nothing about it, then you are complicit in your own suffering. That might seem like an unfair or harsh worldview, but that is the worldview i have.
