Last time I saw Arthur was when I was working my shift at JT Express about couple years back, this guy loves his Kalua Fries, Writing, & Martial Arts. Recently bought one of his books, "A Practical Guide to Happiness on a Poor Man's Budget" it's a very short read with advices anybody can take in, thrown with his personal experience & wisdom, guiding you with a specific meditation practice coming from a martial artist perspective. It was great working with an awesome crew for Santa Clara County to help people cast their ballots/ votes in for 3 out of the 4 days. A lot of checking for approved registration, dropping off ballots, sanitization, setting up, printing, directing people where to go, explaining to registered voters how they should mark and cast their ballots to the scanner or to the bag. I didn't fully read the schedule, so I didn't realize until the day before election day we all had to work for 14-16 hours, haven't been doing that kind of grind in a day since last year. For me alone I probably printed about 150-200 ballots (4 pages each) and assigned about 50+ cards for touch screen voting to registered voters. Anyways, we had a system for good flow, had some laughs, some dessert! Couple of hiccups, some rushes and rarely some drama from the voters (I guess it's not surprising, there's always that 10% that gets really worked up about how the system is, it happens) but we got it covered until closing time. Makes me reminisce working at the restaurant and at the bar with the dopest co-workers. Hope you guys all been good! It's been tough for a lot of families and people who haven't been working during this pandemic. Especially with those who aren't necessarily legal here yet & they haven't been getting any sort of funding or help from the government. Also, my hearts goes out to everyone that's been protesting, donating, and raising awareness for BLM.
