deep anguish can arise from profound boredom, i.e., feeling like there is a lack of novelty in your moment to moment experience. a meditation practice can help mediate these effects by reminding one of the present. it may not seem like it's "enough", it may feel "boring", but that is all there Is. it reminds one of the twofold: do nothing or do something. in other words, wait for something to happen or figure something out.
