Some Dorcas and Marlene headcannons because I love them so much and need to see more of them
Both individual and dorlene headcannons
When they first started dating Marlene always had chapped lips and Dorcas got sick of it after a month and gave her a tinted cherry flavoured lip balm. Marlene now wears it religiously and begs Dorcas to buy her a new one when it runs out because āitās not them same if you donāt give it to me!ā
You know how ever had a crush on Remus or thought they had a crush on Remus at some point? Dorcas is the same. Shes so stylish and cool but also down to earth that everyone falls for her.
They are the biggest quidditch rivals to ever rival. You thought Jegulus was bad? Wait until you see dorlene start to talks quidditch. It goes on for hours
Dorcas has known she liked girls since she was six years old. On the last day of second year she told one of her dorm mates (she thought they were best friends) and when she came back for third year everyone knew. Her dorm mates were assholes about it so Dorcas did everything she could to avoid them including coming to bed when they were all asleep and leaving before they woke up. She spent a lot of her free time napping in a hidden corner of the library where she met Pandora, a Ravenclaw a year below her. Pandora introduced her to the rest of the skittles and Regulus convinced Slughorn (who will do anything Regulus asked in hopes of climbing the social ladder) to let Dorcas move in with him, barty, and Evan.
Marlene and James absolutely grew up together. They met when they were both 5 and at diagon alley. Both their families were getting ice cream and James had gotten too excited and dropped his cone. Marlene, seeing the devastated James, offered to share her bowl because it was the same flavour. They spent the rest of the day running around together. Marlene often jokes that the offer to share was the worst mistake in her life because now she has to deal with James (she would not change a thing)
Marlene is a beater and Dorcas is a chaser. Dorcas is uncannily aware of where Marlene is at all times on the pitch and can avoid any of her bludgers with barely any effort despite Marlene being the best beater on the gryffindor team. This has lead to Marlene purposely hitting bludgers as hard as possible towards Dorcas in order to see if she will ever catch her by surprise. It will never happen.
Marlene got onto the quidditch team in her second year and Dorcas got on in her fourth year (not third because of the rumours about her). It wasnāt until their fifth year that their rivalry started when they got paired in potions and bickered the entire school year. At the start of sixth year they were arguing in an empty classroom and Dorcas wouldnāt let Marlene get a word in. Marlene kissed Dorcas just to shut her up. It took them three more months to mention the kiss again.
Dorelen and Jegulus found out about each other at the same time. After a quidditch match each couple snuck into a locker room while the school was distracted. It was the same locker room. I imagine it like the Spider-Man pointing meme.
Marlene is a halfblood raised in the magical world. Dorcas is a halfblood raised by her widowed muggle dad.
Dorcas hits it off immediately with Lily and Mary and constantly hangs out with them, even when Marlene isnāt there. Dorcas is able to understand and relate to Lily and Maryās muggle struggles and memories. She and Lily talk about literature and Lily lends Dorcas books and plays. Dorcas and Mary bond over flim and movies. Dorcas is interested in fashion and make up and Mary is interested in direction and acting. Lily will often join their conversations with what she picked up on with the scripts and symbolism and stuff. Movie nights quickly turn into long in-depth conversations. Marlene complains that is she wanted to write an essay in her free time she would hang out with Remus. Secretly she adores watching her friends and girlfriend get so lost in a conversation that hours pass by without notice.
Marlene isnāt sure at first how to act around the skittles. She mostly ends up bickering with barty like siblings. She earns regulusā respect when they are sitting in silence waiting for Dorcas and some passerby makes a mean remark about her. Regulus and Marlene are both immediately on the defensive and make sure the bully will never say anything about her again. Not that Dorcas canāt protect herself or anything but they both agree that she shouldnāt have to
Marlene sends a letter to her parents in seventh year asking to if she could bring her girlfriend home for Christmas. She gets a letter in response that says to not come at all unless she brings a boyfriend. Dorcas finds her crying later that day and they go spend Christmas with her father. Every year around the holidays Dorcas secretly writes a letter to Marleneās family telling them how great she is and how they do not deserve her as a daughter if they do not accept her.
Dorcas was Marleneās gay awakening. She didnāt know she was a lesbian until literally the second she kissed Dorcas.
Marlene teaches regulus, barty, and Evan how to throw a punch. Barty ends up in the infirmary with a broken nose. Dorcas vows to never leave Marlene and her friends alone
