Given precisely whose perspective Glitch is written from, it makes sense that Powers are depicted as brainwashed child soldiers, Warmains as violent idiots, and Deceivers as fundamentally full of shit – like, of course that's how Strategists would see it, being the way that they are, and the text of Glitch is severely biased in their favour as a conscious creative choice. It does make me wonder, though: is there an alternative perspective on the game's setting where Strategists are whiny nerds and Deceivers have the right idea, or is being fundamentally full of shit so central to the Deceiver idiom that they're full of shit even when the story is being told from their point of view?

I think people don't always realize the power of being able to sit next to someone who is homophobic or you're just not quite sure about them and being able to watch a movie or show that is queer coded and that person probably won't pick up on the queer coding and they'll just be two really good friends to them but you will see more in it even if you don't necessarily have the words for it yet, you will recognize some part of yourself in these 'good friends' and you wouldn't have been able to do that if it wasn't queer coded because you might not have been able to watch it at all

i mean the other thing about socio cultural frameworks by which we understand sexual violation etc is you have to take into account that most rape/assault/harassment doesn't even get widely interpreted through the lens of "this is a unique trauma and you are tainted forever" it gets interpreted through a lens more like "this probably didn't even happen and i don't know what you're talking about and if it did happen it was no big deal. also you are tainted forever (in a way where i refuse to even name the reason why)"
