One Month One Week One Day, in conjunction with #SAVEARTSPACE and Atlas Music Publishing, presents The Future Is Female, an exhibition that will bring local female artists' work to billboards, bus stops and telephone booths in New York City beginning June 26. The selected artists are Elise Peterson, Lissa Rivera, Beth Brown, Sara Meadows, Nina Summer Photography, Whimsical Artworks of Allie Kelley,Jess Whittam, Fanny Allie, Monica Felix, and Julie Orlick. Their artwork will be installed on advertising space throughout NYC starting June 26 and also exhibited at The Storefront Project (70 Orchard St) July 7 - 16, with an Opening Reception July 7 at 6p. This exhibition is curated by Alyse Archer-Coité, Marie Tomanová, Sandra Hong, Meryl Meisler, and Brittany Natale. You can learn more about the selected artists and the curators here.

A little bit about the artist: 

Aaron Asis is an conceptual artist focused on promoting access, awareness and appreciation—in an urban context. His work explores ideas related to the visible and invisible details within the built environment, drawing connections between these details to promote historic awareness, structural appreciation, and systematic transparency – at the intersection of city agency, community engagement, and public access.

1m1w1d’s Artist’s Grant

Over the course of the 2015, our gracious sponsors have donated to pay for each monthly get-together. The surplus has gone to the 1m1w1d Artist’s Grant and has reached a staggering $10,000!

We are inviting ANY artist of ANY discipline to send a project proposal to onemonthoneweekoneday(at)gmail(dot)com explaining how they would spend that money. On November 1, a panel of esteemed judges will pick a single winner, whom will receive the prize money in order to execute their proposal. When the work is complete, we will throw a 1m1w1d event to showcase the piece.

1m1w1d Short Film Festival

After the success of last year, we are also opening up submissions today, for our 2nd Annual Short Film Festival. We will choose five finalist films to screen on October 7 at the Wythe Hotel Screening Room, where we'll poll the audience to select one winner. The winner will receive $500, a grab bag of customizable music from our sponsor BWN/Black Label Music, AND three days of offline/conform from esteemed editorial house Cut+Run. Submissions are due by September 30.
