Jews thought Jesus said 'I am God' and accused him of blasphemy. Gentiles thought Jesus said 'I am God' and believed it. Both misunderstood.
Anthony Buzzard
The first intention of the gospel is not the solace of men but the glory of God. The good news is that God will be glorified and the process is such that in the achieving of that man will be saved.

A story about searching out the truth
Questions to think about
Numbers says God is not a man. Deuteronomy says God Cannot Die. James says God cannot be tempted. Jesus was a man, Died, and was tempted. Can you explain this without extra biblical philosophies? Also almost everyone of Paul’s epistles starts with, “from God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ…” But not once mentions the Holy Spirit in the introduction. Why not? Why is there so many times that Jesus is referred to as a man but not as God? Also, why did Jesus never call himself God or God the son? Jesus referred to himself as the son of God but not God (he didn't even say it after the resurection) why not? Jews were strictly monotheistic (Deuteronomy 6:4) but if God came in the flesh why would he not foretell it at all in the old testament nor explain it at all in the New Testament? Christians are never mentioned or persecuted for or even questioned about the divinity of Christ in acts why not? Why is the trinity or even the concept of the trinity never mentioned anywhere in the Bible? Can anyone answer these questions with Just the Bible and not Greek based philosophy?

Is Jesus God?
http://youtu.be/zWZIZ32aSYg
Jesus is God and man, as declared by the Council of Chalcedon in 451
So it took 451 years to come up with the doctrine of 100% god and 100% man? So the disciples didn’t believe it and didn’t teach it nor did Jesus.
There is, however, arguably a direct influence on early Christian theology by Platonist Jewish philosopher and theologian Philo of Alexandria (a.k.a. Philo Judaeus) (ca. 20 BCE - ca. 50 CE). Inspired by the Timaeus of Plato, Philo read various Jewish scriptures as teaching that God created the cosmos by his Word (logos) or creative power, and that he subsequently governs the cosmos through the seemingly personal agency of the Word together with that of God's royal power (Philo Works; Morgan 1853, 63-148; Norton 1859, 332-74; Wolfson 1973, 60-97).
