Loveliness

i feel like. People don’t touch their bodies lovingly enough. People just live in their body and mostly ignore it unless its in heightened pain or pleasure whether physical or emotional. But. I hug myself all the time, not while im in the middle of something else like watching a movie but sometimes i wake up, stretch out my arms and hug myself and its so ridiculous i laugh and then my day was started by sharing a laugh. With myself. For myself. Or i run my hand slowly along my waist. As if im awed by the feeling of skin. We get to live in these things, and they’re so cool!!! Does anything make sense??

No disability makes everyone in this ableist society understanding of and supportive of your needs. There's just no such thing as a diagnosis so serious that it makes everyone play nice. The paralyzed person in the powerchair and the terminal cancer patient are also facing ableist bullshit, inaccessibility and discrimination.
