DREAMS DO COME TRUE and fanfics do come to life, how lucky are we? Seriously though, cooking show Louis AND footie Louis in one day, have we finally crossed out of the dark timeline and into some kind of blessed AU?! Louis is doing a COOKING SHOW (well, a little cooking video), and even better- it’s one of those things where he tries to recreate a recipe on his own for the camera! Full Time Meals is part of Marcus Rashford’s campaign to end child food insecurity in the UK. Celebrity chef Tom Kerridge makes easy meals from cheap ingredients for folks to follow along with, so Louis shouldn’t have too much trouble- good for him, though maybe not quite as entertaining for us, but this is one step closer to Celebrity Bake Off, keep dreaming big and crossing those fingers! Kerridge will post his recipe video on Sunday, and then Monday they’ll post Louis making the same thing. The preview pic is just long ass hair everywhere OMG. Put on a hairnet, hippie! NOT ONLY THAT I guess he is still at the studio, but hey that just means more video for us and not only that, today’s fan videos are of Louis kicking a football around- look at him GO!- with CHILDREN, goddddd. TOOO much, truly excellent.

My Policeman filming officially wrapped, and Harry took a fan pic in London (with a fan called… Harry!) Harry (Styles) is wearing his “louie” shirt (hey I didn’t name the thing okay it’s literally called that) and carrying his blue bandana in his back pocket (on the left, relevant if hanky code, probably not relevant if he was just carrying it for hay fever symptoms or whatever.)

Liam assured us that the Vegas entrepreneur dinner will be very fun and (in his underwear, hello) said that he loves his discord and he did a live chat about Lonely Bug and NFTs. He said, “lonely bug is my inner child,” there will be LB merch- “very limited toy drop might add clothes don’t know,” that the new song has “very very bright lyrics,” and said both that his knee is sore and that his knee is much better thanks, how very Liam.

And in a (these days rare for me) dip into fandom discourse, I see writer Kaitlyn Tiffany is back making the rounds of blogs for her book about the 1D fandom and how craaaazzzy larries are; BLOCK HER. Her tumblr url is kaittiffany (EDIT SJDKJFKS she has deleted since this morning OK THEN but she will be back again; I’m leaving this in for next time as we definitely haven’t seen the last of her, plus you know I went to all the trouble of writing it.) A book actually reporting on this complex and somewhat unique fandom objectively from a place of interest and curiosity would be fascinating and totally worthwhile… but sadly this REALLY ain’t it. She has made it clear she has no intention of actually writing about the intricacies of this fandom, only in finding material to bolster her already decided upon thesis about the ‘clinical paranoia’ and conspiracy theorizing of young women online. Her entire premise is based on her own preconceived bias, and she came here to find things to support her premise rather than coming up with it based on what she saw (not to mention it’s totally dated at this point, she really missed the cultural moment on that) and she has no interest in hearing what we have to say, only in pathologizing to support the sensationalist brief she probably got a publishing advance for and finding things to pull out of context to make her already decided on points. Anyway she wrote the intern- who had not blocked her to that account, oops- offering the ‘choice’ between one of our posts being quoted in her book with or without a name attached GEE THANKS SUCH GREAT OPTIONS; once she sees anything she wants to pull out of context, you can’t do anything about it (this is a public platform), so just block her so she doesn’t see it in the first place.

Our Song (Niall and Anne Marie’s song, that is) is nearly here! The song is out midnight local time, the video is out tomorrow at 1 pm BST and there’s a preview of the video and it looks COOL–  vintage and stylish AND some kind of neat plot? Awesome! Today the duo were papped at Hits Radio (where they pre-recorded for tomorrow’s morning show as they’ll be live elsewhere) looking SO stylish, Niall’s outfit in particular is definitely not everyday wear and is great. “We can’t WAIT for you to see this interview,” said the hosts, there’s a picture and a little video of Niall and Anne Marie claiming to be each other.

My Policeman filming continued with a turn– Harry in the ocean, BRRR! I might hope he was kept warm a bit by the thick layer of whatever is covering his tattoos, though it does seem to be coming off a bit at one point (is that a hint of butterfly I see peeking out?) but the huge warning coat and multiple towels wrapping his head between takes say otherwise. His poor feet are just left to freeze in, yes it’s true, crocs.

Fans got excited about the prospect of Louis starring in a biopic of footballer Jamie Vardy, with rumors further fueled by his attendance with girlfriend Danielle at Vardy’s high profile wedding… NO, wait WHAT, surely that can’t be right… what year is it?? After a triumphant season (2020-21 that is, this part is actually current) for Vardy that included setting another record he’s back in the papers and so is talk of his long (long!) delayed film- and the press have revived the talk from 5 years ago, when it was first a thing, about who might star, with Louis again being mentioned as a front runner! Producer and screenwriter Adrian Butchart (who is still the guy in charge of the project and talking about going forward) said in 2016, “Louis Tomlinson is very much on our radar, he’s apparently a great footballer, he can act and he’s from South Yorkshire so the accent won’t be a problem for him.” It’s clear that the reporters mentioning him as a prospect for the film are just drawing on items from back then rather than new info, but hey- all of those things are still true!

Niall is always trying to be 10% more Irish and he is SMASHING IT, today in his role as official Guinness spokesmodel (plus bonus plug for a favorite pub while he’s at it), looking handsome and cozy and extra Irish in wool and tweed. Anne Marie posted another Our Song snippet. It’s catchy as fuck and about hearing a song on the radio– self fulfilling prophecy? Could be! Niall commented on her silly video running around in a field, “haha cracked me up can’t wait for this Friday,” and posted “Friday is a BIG BIG DAY.”

We’re still reeling from the approximately 4000 new SNL 2019 pics and now… Harry in Don’t Worry Darling pics?? He’s seductive and stubbly in a bed BUT ALSO serious and sweaty (not to mention scraggly, with some kinda wig or extensions), the dichotomy of scary Harry! In both shots he’s looking right into the camera so, publicity shots? They weren’t released officially, they were posted on a fan account. Yes, it does seem to be an account that doesn’t post much except to sneak up unseen DWD pics (this is the third time), and yes I’m aware that a great number of people are convinced Olivia/ DWD studio is the source but like; what’s the idea here, that the person who posted video of herself talking about buying the TMH vinyl yesterday and who is online liking fandom posts pretty much every day is an actor being paid by the DWD studio? That a no name fan who rarely posts anything and doesn’t have a high follower count was chosen somehow to be fed low quality pics to leak? You know someone having access to stuff they shouldn’t and leaking it is actually really common? That’s the thing though, in this fandom people WOULDN’T know that, because literally every leak and random unseen old pic is said to be from HQ or whatever, which creates the idea that there aren’t such things as real leaks, which makes more people say it’s a sneaky HQ leak the next time…. SIGH. Ciiiiircles, we’re going in circles… (And of course the fact that fans with unseens are all the time pretending to be HQ leaking things only adds to it when people believe them!) Anyway, now the pics have been pulled, copyright violation blah blah blah. And speaking of who posted what, much discussion of who what where when regarding the one outlier in yesterday’s Harry photodump- in the mix was one serious looking and very different from the rest pic labeled ‘SNL head shot’ but clearly taken earlier in the year than the others. Looks to have been taken during his fall 2019 Italy trip- my guess is he had it shot to send off to SNL during the time they were planning for his appearance, while the others were shot, as we know, while he was in New York doing the show.

Tickets went on general sale for most of the new and larger Louis shows today, and disappeared just as quickly; most, including the Wembley Arena show, sold out in minutes. Fans celebrated his success, but also begged for added/ even bigger shows as eager buyers everywhere were unable to get their hands on any tickets at all, with even Twitter (the platform itself) getting emotional and adding a sobbing emoji to the explanation of why he was trending; “louies around the world try to get their hands on a ticket for Louis Tomlinson’s rescheduled world tour, much of which is sold out.” It sure is! Italian and LATAM fans shared screenshots of the numbers of people queued ahead of them on sales sites and pointed out those numbers were enough to fill stadiums rather than just arenas; IDK if those site numbers are real, but with pretty much every tour show sold out it’s clear he can add more and sell those just fine too. There are a few gaps left in the dates and I wouldn’t be at all surprised if some were left on purpose to allow them to add more dates later. His website has been updated with not only lots of new tour info, but also finally got rid of the lingering mentions of Sony entirely, nice.

The usually quiet Zayn is continuing to use his platform to be loud about the situation in Palestine: “I stand with the Palestinian people” he wrote, “My heart aches for the families who have lost loved ones. We can not stand as silent witnesses to children being orphaned and murdered and not demand for the human rights of all Palestinians! This must end. Free Palestine.” YES ZAYN!

Politically speaking I’m much less thrilled by a man in a cop uniform but as a fan there’s no question that Harry in full uniform doing high kicks and dancing around on set is QUALITY CONTENT! Filming filming filming, all day every day: today scenes with both Emma and David and featuring the police box where characters Tom and Patrick meet to snog, a scene that made book readers cry just to see it being filmed, plus two (2) cupcakes in one (1) hand and video from yesterday of Harry out of character and just being his own ridiculous self yelling out the window of his of his ride at an outdoor workout class, omg. “Squat squat squat!” Harold WHY. He is in high spirits and good form these days it seems, which I can appreciate almost as much as the deeply Tumblr™ weirdness of my timeline being filled with pictures of Harry Styles ducking in and out of a Tardis for canoodling with his pretend boyfriend which are, bizarrely, not manips.

Meanwhile Niall was like “tell you that I’m promoting a new song without really promoting the new song? On it”, and sort of hinted vaguely about the upcoming collab; Anne Marie took the lead for today with a more active approach to getting it out there with a morning show appearance and a playlist ft Niall.

Zayn said FREE PALESTINE!! He posted a slideshow with info about the current crisis of human rights violations in Jerusalem and other parts of occupied Palestine with a heartfelt statement, and tweeted a UNICEF link to donate to support children under fire in Gaza. “I stand with the Palestinian people and support their resistance to colonization and protection of their human rights,” said Zayn, “My heart aches for the families who have lost loved ones. We can not stand as silent witnesses to children being orphaned and murdered and not demand for the human rights of all Palestinians! This must end. Free Palestine.” Zayn has always stood with the Palestinian people as part of his own cultural heritage- or perhaps just as a caring person educated on the issues- and I imagine now being the parent of a baby who is part Palestinian from her mom’s side has only strengthened that commitment.

LTtour22 planning is truly underway, with venues being shuffled and tickets going on sale (and resale sites price gouging like you wouldn’t believe). Point of sale tickets are still reasonably priced for most markets though, and so is something else that has appeared; REMAIN CALM but– it looks like meet and greets have been quietly added to some shows?! Go check your local listing to see if one is happening near you!

More Brits news from yesterday– host Jack Whitehall continued his tradition of making fun of his friend Niall and then getting canceled by fans for it, making a joke about how they had to limit the award show audience so they “billed it as a Niall Horan gig”, and doing a Q and A about Niall and Lewis Capaldi pretending to accost him backstage last year after he called Niall “the other one” from 1D. Predictably, fans got super upset! Not turkey puppet level upset or anything, but pretty mad nonetheless. Niall did not respond, but he did like a post about Little Mix calling out the “white male dominance” at the awards and comment a little clappy hands on a Gucci post about Harry’s Brit win. Anne Marie posted a pic of her making a funny face and facetiming Niall, and an EXCELLENT set pic of her and Niall filming the video for their alleged collab song; Niall commented “cannot wait,” and yet it seems to me like he CAN wait as that is in fact what we are still doing!

Fans also got worked up post-Brits about Harry’s acceptance speech; specifically, his accent, with enough people saying he sounded American that actual articles were written saying he used an American accent. I… don’t agree? He just sounds like Harry?? My theory is we aren’t used to hearing Harry speaking back to back with Louis anymore and the contrast with his samsung ad just threw people off, lol. But if you want some all-American Harry related content, I don’t think it gets more American than Jon Bon Jovi; he played Watermelon Sugar for a charity event. A little weird but definitely better than the Bardcore version, I’ll give him that! Harry himself was back to work bright and early today, filming My Policeman (presumably not with an American accent)- today brings silent video of him in an alley, smoking, in a sweater vest, and on the street, smoking, with a duffel bag.

LOUIS NEWS– label and tour!! First, Louis has announced (or, well, Simon Jones PR has anyway, no word from Louis direct and yes, SJPR is still in the picture) that Louis is “partnering with BMG to release his second album globally”, an interestingly specific/ limited reveal. Fans are eyeing the wording and questioning whether he actually signed with them as a label (which they are) or just for publishing rights or distribution (which they also do, unlike most other labels)- the mention only of a ‘partnership’ supports the possibility that it’s something other than his new label, but it isn’t definitive and the simplest explanation of the press release is that BMG will be his label for LT2, as well as distributor and publishing company. The fact that they are small (relatively speaking; not one of the “Big Four” record labels but they’re hardly tiny) and somewhat new as a label does not to me seem like a reason why Louis wouldn’t have chosen them, as some are suggesting; there’s something to be said for being the big focus of a label rather than just another act, and Louis already chose that route once before when he signed with Arista (who are umbrella-ed by Sony but themselves not one of the big four) just after their relaunch, making him their biggest act by far. Also vague: “global” in this context doesn’t necessarily mean BMG has replaced Arista (his U.S. only label), it just for sure means UK plus the ‘international’ market, ie most of the rest of the world. It could mean U.S. too! Or not. We have reason to believe Louis was still with Arista as recently as a few months ago, and no evidence to suggest otherwise. The official press release says “recording is already underway” on LT2, and quotes Louis as saying: “I’m very excited to start the next part of my journey with BMG”. BMG- a new company founded after splitting from older label SonyBMG in 2008- claim to be “a new kind of music company” who are “not just a music publisher or a label” (they instead combine both of those things) in which “service to artists and writers is key,” and as part of that combine label services with holding publishing rights for their clients, often handled by separate companies and an area where songwriters tend to get screwed. BMG’s press also mentions their involvement with new technology a lot, and they represent Kings of Leon who have been at the forefront of the music industry use of NFTs (including releasing their next album as an NFT on a special NFT label despite being BMG artists). BMG’s twitter following more than doubled in the hours after the announcement, and they followed Louis and tweeted to welcome him aboard from three different twitter accounts, including the U.S. one.

Slightly more commentary from Louis about the updated tour dates though mostly still press release style– “Let’s try this one last time!” he said, “All shows on my world tour will be moving back to 2022 and I’m excited to announce the first wave of new dates. I can’t wait to see you all soon, it’s going to be special!” and what should be the final dates for tour dropped, all in Spring ‘22- including a London show at Wembley, holy shit! Not every rescheduled date has been announced but those that are mostly have one thing in common– much bigger venues than they were originally booked into. At at least one show so far fans will have to buy tickets again which sucks, but they are offering a pre-sale for previous ticket holders so at least those buyers only have to fight each other and not all the fans that joined the scrum in the time since the tour sold out. “After all this time and years of waiting this tour is going to be incredible, I can’t wait!” said Louis and he’s not wrong!

And that’s all for serious news, over in Harry land things are…a lot sillier. A “bardcore” version of Watermelon Sugar was been added to Harry’s official Spotify, LOL, and it is even more ridiculous to listen to than it is to imagine! I don’t imagine it topping the charts anytime soon but it’s certainly an entertaining twist I was NOT expecting over the quiet weekend. The idea of Harry and friends deciding that needed to be legitimized on the official 36 million follower page is PRICELESS, and I would love to see Harry in a Gucci doublet and hose (or a nice laced bodice), but sadly it seems that the addition of the 2020 cover song to Harry’s account was a fuck up on Spotify’s end, as acknowledged by the bard himself (no not Harry or Shakespeare, the person who did the weird cover- they do lots of covers in this style, it’s like a whole Thing. Medieval style covers of hits.) The bard himself was seen on the MP set in a t-shirt reading “don’t ruin my fantasy”. New merch? I’ve never seen something more perfect for harries, they should consider it! This shirt though is from a designer with a focus on gender neutrality who donates to queer youth charities. And Kid Harpoon said, about WS (modern version) “at first, and I get this quite a lot with his lyrics, I thought, that’s kind of weird. Then you’re like, man, it’s brilliant. I remember thinking that with this. Harry’s so good at lyrics, he’s really growing into his own thing.”

Niall and Louis both got worked up and wordy about football on twitter as the season wraps up dramatically. Niall, really leaning into the ‘dramatic’ part of that, tweeted his beloved Derby “I’ll always love you even though you’ve broken my heart since the day I was born,” memed himself– “do it for him” over a wee baby Niall at a Derby game- AND added “barely slept with nerves” and wished the team luck before their game, which was expected to result in them being knocked down to a lower division for next season after a rough year. But they hung onto their spot by their fingernails, to Niall’s joy- “I’ve never experienced anything like that in my life. The most intense 90 mins ever,” he rhapsodized and went into detail about the game (and then bro-ed out a bit with Piers Morgan, gross). With that emotional journey out of the way (after he seriously assured us that his football tweets were in no way sarcastic) he moved on to jokes with/ at the fans, imitating people who would like to know wtf is going on with the Anne-Marie collab he’s been actively teasing since January and talking about longer than that. Anne Marie posted a montage of tweets asking wtf is going on and Niall chimed in, “WHAT IS HAPPENING? are they actually going to collab?”  WELL EXCUUUSE US for having some QUESTIONS when you say it’s happening for MONTHS but it never actually comes out!

Louis also had things to say about football, joining the accolades for player James Coppinger as he prepares to retire after 16 years with Doncaster (!!) following their last match of the season tomorrow. “Just want to say a massive congratulations and a massive thank you for everything you’ve done for the club. A true professional and forever a Donny legend!” says Louis, and “enjoy tomorrow mate!” “Thank you mate,” said Coppinger.

Today in MP filming, Harry is still on the beach but fully clothed this time, and we have pics showing post shoot cheering, clapping and whistling– are they done? Just done for the day or with that location? Don’t ask me, IDK!

My Policeman filming has gotten to the much anticipated Brighton beach location at last! Harry may be acting and in period costume/ hair and tattoo free but despite all of that, the pics of him goofing around on a beach in short shorts (legs for days, look at that little giraffe) are just the most Harry! Despite the pounds of make up he must be coated in and the chilly weather that had them bundling up between takes he looks high energy and excited and is having a gay old time with everyone and throwing himself into the acting with great zest. And then for contrast, another scene of him smoking moodily on the same beach at night was also filmed- oh the angst of it all!

Louis had an added tour date and a bunch of reschedules announce today! Next March in Utah and April in Belgium and Amsterdam and Doncaster– Spring ‘22 LT Tour it is! Tickets for the Belgium show go on sale Friday. The newly added venues are significantly larger than the ones the tour was originally booked in, to accommodate the growth in his fandom since those first shows were booked. I’m happy for him but we really missed out forever on the tiny venue tour we were supposed to have huh? Sighhhh.

And real pics of Harry on the My Policeman set are here at last! The paps are on site and we are flooded with HQs of filming, SO MANY of them. Yep, he’s really out there in a full cop uniform: it’s a good thing I can distinguish acting from life, unlike most of the people sending anons today, or that would really bother me, though ofc some people who do get that it’s just pretend are also unhappy about him in a role as a cop. The rest are mostly worked up about seeing him standing next to David Dawson and kissing Emma Corrin. Book readers remind us that the awkwardness you’re seeing in that kiss scene is GOOD acting, not bad, as his character is gay and attempting to play straight, with difficulty; I have No Comment with regard to people pointing out that it looks just the same as every other time we’ve seen him canoodle with a woman. At least we can finally put the Harry-is-blond thing to rest though, and next time someone cites THE SUN as a reason to believe something please remember that they told you he had bleached his hair. Also, actor and instagram sensation Leslie Jordan says Harry slid into his DMs and they chatted about acting and specifically My Policeman and Harry’s role. Regarding him ‘playing gay’ Jordan (an out gay actor) says he told him, “well you’re halfway there!”, referring to the way he dresses. Yes; at least halfway!

Niall was also papped, out and about in London with girlfriend Amelia. They’re both in high cuffed white trousers and look like they’re stoically suffering through the process of being photographed. Also he posted a bunch of pics (“NEW CAMERA” and there the camera is, visible in a mirror selfie- it’s a little film camera!) mostly of himself this time, nice. He’s with friends, he’s in the studio making music, he’s hiking a beautiful trail, he’s on the MV set with Anne Marie, he’s looking good!
