Nepotism is for the weak

A few days ago, the lovely @catmommyyyy asked me so sweetly to create an illustration of Lin from her AU, that once she explained what she wanted, I simply had to do it. I don't usually take requests, mainly because I find it hard to draw anything other than Lin, however since this was a specific request for Lin within the context of her amazing story half-truths and cowards, I couldn't say no. In fact, it was a delight from start to finish, from researching elements that would stay true to her personality and reality to capturing everything that defines the character in this AU.

Like what if tenzin was afraid to get in touch with his water tribe side because he thought it would make him less of an airbender? The guilt eats at him. Personally I think he’s closer in personality with katara than aang.

Bumi loving his younger siblings to death but also having jealousy towards them because they can bend and he can’t. Bumi trying to prove he’s good enough without it.

Kya who loves her bending , family and culture but doesn’t align with every part of it. She who in some way still wants to prove herself to the world that she’s more than katara 2.0.
