I love Areum so much! Can you share some more moments of her with Lin or Tenzin (or both)?
OUR SWEEET BABY GIRL?!?! OF COURSE YOU CAN ๐๐๐ฅฐ๐ฅฐ Here are some moments and maybe headcanons of Areum with her parents
Whenever her parents have a bad day, tiny Areum would leave doodles for them to look at. Usually hearts, flowers, stars, Oogi, their family, or some animals. And she always wrote a little message to cheer them up too
Lin giving Areum one of her dresses when she was younger. It's for an event that the whole family is attending, and Areum told Lin that she would like to wear something that reflects her EK heritage instead. Lin finds an emerald green dress that fits Areum well, except needs to be tailored a bit to better fit her frame. Areum feels like a real Beifong when she wears her mother's dress and sees herself in green. Lin is not done yet, and allows Areum to wear her jewelry--jade, gold, and pearls. Lin watching Areum feeling confident and so beautiful in her clothes makes her heart swell up, knowing that she's been feeling insecure about herself.
Areum does this for both parents. When Tenzin was injured aftering fighting the Red Lotus the first time, he had to rest a lot in bed and stay home. Areum carried all of her toys and plushies and surrounded Tenzin with all of them so that he wouldn't feel lonely, esp since no one could sleep beside him. He woke up one time to her toys and asked her quietly to slip in bed so he could secretly cuddle her.
In Lin's case, she sometimes got injured badly enough that she would have to stay home to recover. She also receives a bed full of plushies, some of them are laid on top of her belly and underneath her arms so she can hug them while sleeping. Sometimes Areum would entertain her mom by reading stories or playing Doctor.
since childhood, Areum has brought home many different animals. Lin will never forget the time she was cooking dinner and Areum patted her leg. "Look at my new friend, Mommy." She looks and what the hell does she see?! A fucking snake! Lin yelped, instinctively yanked Areum from the snake and jumped on the counter. Areum claims that it was not venomous or dangerous bc she read it in her book. Other times, Areum brings home a dove, cats, puppies, or meadow voles. She is not allowed to keep them as pets, but Lin and Tenzin allows her to bring them home if they are injured and nurse them to better health before she can release them back into the wild
Areum learned to ride a bike with Mommy. She fell many times and often got scraped knees, but hugs and a treat from Lin made it a little better.
Areum learned to swim with Daddy. She would jump from the rocks and land straight into Tenzin's arms. He would pull her gently through the water and help her kick before slowly releasing her. Other times, he would let her ride on his back and pull Areum as she giggled and steered by tugging on his ears.
Areum and Tenzin almost blew up the kitchen trying to make fruit pies. Don't ask how it happened. They followed the recipe book. Now they are not allowed to bake/cook at the same time.
After the second intense battle with the Red Lotus, Lin and Tenzin were both injured and staying together. Areum also got hurt (broken arm). She would check on them often. Every day, she would pick flowers and rest them beside her parents' bedside so that they had something pretty to look at, instead of each other's injuries or their own.
Tenzin always seems to have a tense face at any guy who talks to Areum when they're at an event. She can feel his staring and will blow some air his way to get him to stop. Esp when she liked the guy.
Lin and Tenzin will never forget how she began walking when they were both teaching her. She started by standing with Tenzin's help as she took wobbly and slow steps towards Lin.
While getting her tattoos, Areum couldn't decide who she wanted to be with her. So Lin and her siblings were there, in different shifts to entertain Areum and keep her spirits high through the pain. At her airbending master ceremony, she can clearly hear the emotions in her father's voice as he speaks to the world. Once the hood comes off, she hears the clapping. But when she looks to the side, she sees both of her parents crying and smiling at her proudly. The sight of them crying makes her want to cry too. There's a photo of her later with Lin and Tenzin standing behind her, and behind them is a statue of Grandpa Aang.
