Despite Lin seemingly accepting his reasons for his absence, Lin did not speak to him for over a week. No matter what he did, she continued to ignore him or relayed messages to him through other people. It would be easier to fix this if he knew what was wrong, but for once, Lin was the one cutting and running. 

“I don’t know what to do,” Tenzin moaned, sinking at the dinner table and laying his head down between his arms. 

“Relationship issues?” 

“Go away, Kya.” Tenzin’s voice carried through the thick fabrics preserving his body heat. 

“You know, when you’re having a hard time, you’re supposed to lean on your family.” 

“You just want to torture me.” 

“Lin’s already doing it, so why not me too?” 

“Go away.” 

“Mom said we need to spend more time. She even said she’d call Bumi so we can all spend time together.” 

“Nooo.” 

“Too late. Bumi got the message.” Kya sat in the chair beside her younger brother and put her leg on his lap. He attempted to shrug her off, but she doubled down and raised her other leg on him. She smiled at the disapproving grunt from Tenzin. “So, back to you sulking and acting like you’re the victim.” 

“Well, I’m trying to fix things and Lin won’t give me a chance!” 

“She didn’t talk to her sister for thirty years. You were radio silent for weeks. I think you can handle one week of Lin ignoring you.”

“I thought family is supposed to make you feel better.”
