My very dear friend’s sister, 16-year-old Retaj, is fighting for her life after the occupation shot her in the head on Thursday. They’ve done the first surgery and are carrying out what tests they can, but there’s still shrapnel in sensitive parts of her brain that control speech & memory, which means any further surgery is extremely difficult.

Retaj can no longer remember the names of her family members.

She will likely become an urgent medical evacuation case, joining tens of thousands of patients being prevented from traveling abroad for livesaving care.

Please help. No short goal, because anything helps.

A psychologist from Gaza is leading this project, called Heal Minds Gaza. The program will focus on healing, expression, social reintegration, community-building, and building the future.

Mental health invervention for kids who survived the occupation’s torture camps IS urgent, and we can make it happen. Funds will go towards materials and facilitation.

Our current priority is the babies, including a two-month-old; the cold has killed two babies in Gz in just the past two days. Everyone also has had severe, life-threatening COVID for weeks.

The families need winter supplies (blankets, baby & children’s clothes, tarps) and medicine for the little ones.

Spark Space is mutual aid project bringing electricity and internet to families in G*za. This week, Spark is hosting hundreds of high school kids for their exams. It's their first exams in TWO years. The exams have an electronic component, but electricity is extremely expensive, and they have six more days of exams. The team's latest update:

"Due to heavy shelling in the area that affected the generator network, we had to purchase gasoline for our generator, which is very, very, very expensive, to provide electricity to the space during the outage."

The volunteers are working hard to make sure these students can complete their work.

Ahmed is an art therapist and educator whose research in Gz focuses on developing methods for treating child trauma. He has an acceptance to a Master’s in Europe where he will continue to develop his practice so he can return to healing the children of his country—a need that has unfortunately only grown.

I have been in touch with Ahmed since he was exiled last spring. In Egypt, Palestinian refugees from Gaza have no rights, including to work—meaning Ahmed is reliant on the kindness of strangers & his international friends to cover his rent and other expenses while he waits for his student visa.

We have a modest goal so as to cover Ahmed’s needs monthly. I’m in daily contact with Ahmed who is also my dear friend & family. Anything extra will be given as cash when I visit him in a week.
