after hearing about the biologist's husband through her perspective, it's a bit of a shock to hear her recap his journal and share how her husband thought of her while they were apart. he wanted to experience the fascinating and terrible aspects of area x with her. he would've bonded silently if that's what she wanted. they could have met each other halfway.
