[REVIEW] Guardians Of The Galaxy
First, I want to say, Marvel took a HUGE risk making this movie. I mean, I had never even heard of “Guardians Of The Galaxy” before this movie was announced. And if I asked anyone else about them or if they knew who they were, I would always get the same response… A shriveled face followed by the question, “What’s that?!” And, finally, after some really good marketing and advertisement, the movie has officially been released! So, how was it?
It’s pretty damn good! You could even say, this movie is the whole package. It has action, excitement, humor, drama, originality, etc. If you’re willing to give this movie a shot, chances are it will grab a hold of you and not let go until the credits roll. And by the end of the movie, you’re likely to find yourself coming out of the theater talking about which character you liked best.
In conclusion… I RECOMMEND Guardians Of The Galaxy. You might hear some people calling it “The best Marvel movie ever.” or “Better than The Avengers.”, but for now, I’ll just call it a success. I don’t want to add too much to the already rave reviews it’s been receiving because I don’t want to over hype the movie. However, I will say, I think this movie is proof that there’s nothing Marvel can’t do.
*Side notes:
This movie marks Josh Brolin’s first official appearance as Thanos, The Mad Titan. (Thanos first appeared at the end of The Avengers during an end credit scene.)
Yes, this movie contains end credit scenes as well. There’s one right after the movie ends and another at the very end of the credits.
Yup
[REVIEW] Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes
When I first watched Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes, I thought the movie was so awesome! And then I worried… If the studios decided to green light a sequel, would it be as awesome as the first one? Or would they just rush it with a half-ass story to make a quick buck?
Well, let me just say… Wow! This movie is bad ass in so many ways. I mean, seriously, what can I say that hasn’t already been said? Andy Serkis is amazing as Caesar. The special effects are amazing. This was a perfect follow up to Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes and I love the way the studio is handling this franchise. At this point, any worries I had are gone and if they decide to go through with a third part, I’m all for it.
In conclusion, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes. If you enjoyed the first one, you owe it to yourself to watch this movie the next chance you get!
And I know this review was a little short, but I just don’t want to over-hype the movie to the point that it becomes a disappointment.

[REVIEW] X-Men: Days Of Future Past
When this movie was first announced, I gotta admit, I wasn’t too excited. The X-Men movies had been going downhill for a while and I seriously want to go on a mini rant about my love-hate relationship with the X-Men movies, but I’m holding back the urge ………………..!!!!!!
Anyway, don’t worry, this movie is good! It’s not perfect, it still has some flaws, but for what it is, it’s awesome. It’s also a little hard to talk about without giving anything away, so I’ll try to keep it simple.
The story, this time around, aims to go into the past to prevent a war in the future. A bold move from director Bryan Singer who stated in an interview that he plans to "fix a few things" along the way. And I don’t usually care for ‘time travel’ movies, but time travel is used a little differently than what I’m normally used to and I think I liked it.
The characters were great. This X-Men movie made me feel like the characters that were used actually served a purpose, instead of just being thrown in for the sake of showing off. Everybody did a great job with their respected roles. And yes, Quicksilver was awesome!
The movie’s action scenes are good. It’s just a little difficult to elaborate on them without giving away too much, but I will say Quicksilver’s scene in the Pentagon was definitely one of my favorites!
In conclusion… I RECOMMEND X-Men: Days Of Future Past. It’s a fun summer blockbuster that is sure to put a smile on your face, especially if you’ve been following the X-Men movies from the beginning.
By the way, there is an end credits scene at the very end. If you’re familiar with the X-Men, you might get an idea as to who or what is in store for the next installment.

[REVIEW] Godzilla
Now THIS is a Godzilla movie! This version of Godzilla makes the 1998 version look laughably bad in so many ways, it’s not even funny. BUT before you get your hopes up, I just want to say that Pacific Rim had more monster action than this movie did and that’s not necessarily a bad thing.
Like JeremyJahns mentioned in his review, "It’s a human movie. It’s not about the monsters, it’s about the humans. It’s kind of like The Walking Dead. AMC’s The Walking Dead has zombies in it, but it doesn’t concentrate on the zombies. It’s all about the people who have to survive a world with zombies in it. Godzilla’s much the same thing."
So, if you were expecting a Godzilla movie with non-stop monster-vs-monster action, you may be disappointed. But if you’re okay with the idea of a Godzilla movie focusing more on the human aspect, then you’ll be in for quite a treat.
The special effects in this movie are amazing! I don’t know how many times I was staring at the screen in awe with my jaw dropped. I’m a huge fan of special effects and this movie delivers the goods.
In conclusion, without giving away too much, I definitely RECOMMEND Godzilla, if you’re into monster movies with a whole lot of disaster. I’m also going to say that if you plan on watching this movie, do so in a theater because a movie like this deserves the big screen treatment!
Godzilla!
[REVIEW] The Amazing Spider-Man 2
At this point, this movie has been getting mixed reviews from both critics and fans. And even though I agree with some of the complaints surrounding this movie, as well as having some of my own, I gotta admit.. I really enjoyed it.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is way better than the first one. I always felt like the first movie was okay as a reboot, but this one definitely kicks things up a notch! The action is awesome and there are a couple of cool scenes in the movie that I found myself smiling during them.
Andrew Garfield never totally convinced me he was Spider-Man in the first film, but he was great this time around. I also loved his chemistry with Emma Stone, she did a great job as Gwen Stacy and it allowed me to feel for them during their ups and downs.
As for the villains…
I thought Electro was awesome! He looked bad ass and I loved the effect they did with his voice. I do have a few gripes about his character in this movie, but the good outweighs the bad. Harry Osborn was good, but not great. I felt like they could have done a little more with his character. And don’t even get me started with the Rhino.
In conclusion… Yes, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 has it’s flaws, it’s not perfect. For what it is, I think it’s a great Spider-Man movie and would definitely RECOMMEND watching it. In fact, I might catch some heat for this, but I’m enjoying this version of Spider-Man better than Sam Raimi’s trilogy.
X-Men: Days Of Future Past (Official Trailer 3)
I gotta admit, the previous trailers they released never really did anything for me, but this trailer kinda got me a little hyped for the movie. I still don’t really like the look of the sentinels, though. Anyway, here is the link to the latest and, possibly, final trailer for X-Men: Days Of Future Past. X-Men: Days Of Future Past (Trailer 3)
looks a little more interesting
Wow. First of all, I just want to say, I love the word play at the end of the article. Well played. (Click on the image above to read the article)
Second, if you don’t already know, Cletus Kasady is a homicidal maniac who is best known as the super villain, Carnage.
Apparently,...
Carnage? What?
That’s right! The Marvel Cinematic Universe is now, officially, the highest grossing movie franchise in domestic history. Thanks to Marvel’s latest blockbuster, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, the studio has grossed a total of $2.47 billion dollars since its first movie, Iron Man,...
good job, Marvel!

Funny how just yesterday I was pointing out the fact that Warner Brothers has been having a hard time getting a Wonder Woman movie made and today comes an article from DC Comics News stating that a Wonder Woman movie has now been fast-tracked for 2015!
This announcement now adds more sense to...
pretty cool
Now that Captain America: The Winter Soldier has been released, the next film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to hit theaters is Guardians Of The Galaxy. And something I’d like to point out really quick, is that I really like how the promotional poster says, “You’re welcome” at the very...
interesting
[REVIEW] Captain America: The Winter Soldier
After much anticipation, Captain America: The Winter Soldier finally hit theaters and I was lucky enough to make it to the midnight premiere. So, this time around, we find Captain America (aka Steve Rogers) still sort of struggling to get used to modern society, much like he did in The Avengers. Only this time, not only are his morals put to the test as certain politics come into play, but he also must go up against The Winter Soldier. Anyone not familiar with the comics should just know the Winter Soldier is an utter bad ass of a villain! I found myself genuinely afraid whenever he went up against one of the good guys and I loved that! This movie was much better than the first. Don’t get me wrong, Captain America: The First Avenger was good, it just wasn’t great. And this movie definitely improves on EVERY aspect. From the characters, to the story, to the action, this movie delivers! Just don’t let some of the other reviews mislead you, stating that it’s, “Better than The Avengers” because I wouldn’t say it is… but it is DAMN GOOD! In conclusion… I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Captain America: The Winter Soldier if you’re into this sort of thing. If not, it’s still an entertaining action movie for those who are unfamiliar with the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
