We haunt ourselves

Seventeen-year-old Henry Page has never been in love. He fancies himself a romantic, but the kind of once-in-a-lifetime love he's been hoping for just hasn't happened yet. Then, on the first day of senior year, he meets transfer student Grace Town and it seems all that is about to change. When Grace and Henry are chosen to co-edit the school paper, he is immediately drawn to the mysterious newcomer. As he learns the heartbreaking secret that has changed her life, he finds himself falling in love with her - or at least the person he thinks she is.

Chemical Hearts will be my second fav movie after TFIOS because it's just so beautiful. This is a story of the chaos and confusion of the teenage life, heartbreaks, grief and healing at one's pace. Also, the movie featured one of my favorite art forms, kintsukuroi, the Japanese art of putting broken pottery pieces back together with gold — built on the idea that in embracing flaws and imperfections, you can create an even stronger, more beautiful piece of art.

I can't blame Henry for trying to "fix" Grace since his heart and intentions are so pure. At first, I disagreed with the ending but after thorough processing, I got to understand that it was the best for both of them.

I also love the color schemes, the cinematography, the mood and most specially, the script - that's why it became one of my favorites.
