   “Stressed out with what?” The male turned away from his phone and looked over at his sunbae. “Do you really want lines on your forehead from stress? Aren’t you worried it’s going to ruin your face?” He teases and puts his phone down on the table in front of him. He comfortably leans back on the couch and puts his chin in his palm as he twists his body to look over at him.

“I’ll be your doctor for… 30 minutes, so tell me your worries. You couldn’t tune your bass correctly this morning or something?” He smiled widely at his own joke, teeth baring out as he tries to suppress his bubbling laughter. 

“And I promise, the jokes end here and none of your words will be repeated out of this free trial session. So tell me, Beau-ssi, what is bothering you?”

   Truthfully, he agreed but he couldn’t bring himself to say anything. His goddess, Kim Seolhyun, was a cat for Halloween and he loved it. “Does that mean you didn’t go as a pretty bunny?” He smiled with his crescent eyes and put his phone down on the table. “I didn’t dress up as anything this year… I guess you can say I was a trainee for Halloween. Isn’t that creative?”

He teased and crossed his arms with his chin lifted up at the ceiling as he brainstormed. “Next year, I’ll dress up as you… and hold a camera up to vlog about my beauty!” He rested his hand on the side of his face, giving her another smile. “Hello, everyone! Today, I’ll be showing you how to do this Christmas makeup!” He said with a raised tone, exaggerating with his hands and batting his eyelashes at every word.

“I could even be a better Amy than Amy… hul…”

   He rose with both feet and started to applaud his sunbae on her small performance. “Eh… Don’t be modest!” He gave her a quick thumbs up and stood up and went to her spot to stare back at the practice room mirror. “How did you do that one move?” He makes eye contact with her and tries to bend his body like she did. However, his stiff, soldier self was barely able to recreate what she did.

“Ah.. I don’t think that was it.. Body wave? Was it a body wave?” He asked and stepped forward with his right foot and rolled his body back. “I looked like a snake, didn’t I? You have to teach me the dance so it can be my personal talent when I debut and claim: I, Im Yoseob, can imitate Yanyan’s dance.”

   “Who? Hani-noona? Ehhh…” He shook his head and raised his palm up in protest. For the longest time, Hani has been getting hate for bursting out in tears out of nowhere and as an obsessed fan, Yoseop was always first to defend her. “I think she got prettier after her break up, for sure!” His eyes stayed glued on the monitor as he watched the reruns of older episodes of Weekly Idol.

“I wonder what she had to go through… having a break up and having to go to recording after recording and smile and joke around... she must have it hard…” He pinched the bridge of his nose and shut his eyes tight in a moment of silence for his bias. “Ah… being an idol is so hard… There’s no sick days or personal days… there’s just work and practice!”

“Noona… if you’re ever suffering like Hani was, call me. I’ll fill your spot in Creep. I can look like you if I just have a wig. Hm? Take your personal days and don’t suffer silently!”

   “You don’t have to worry at all!” The male exclaimed as he peacefully rested his head on his arm. He already his lids completely shut, so the lights turning off would be beneficial rather than harmful. “I made a vow in the army to protect the elderly, the beauty, and the children of this nation. Power outages are the easiest!” 

“Ooh!” He raised his head and propped his elbow to support it. He looked directly at her and smiled widely. “That sounded cool, right? I should say that in front of my fans one day… K y a a a … all of them would fall for me.”

   The piercing focus of the male shattered at the unknown female voice directed at him. He peaked his head up from his notebook, filled with messy lyrics he wrote. “Ah, sunbae! You didn’t hear about the one yesterday?” He replied with a slightly deflated tone than normal. He, truthfully, hadn’t slept since yesterday’s assessment. Not because it didn’t go over well, but because he was disappointed in himself more than anyone else. 

“If you saw my performance yesterday, you would have thought I was an idol with 5 years under his belt!” He confidently said with a huge smile afterward. His eyes folded to tired, little crescents as he tried his best not to sound sleepy. 

“I think this month I should focus on dancing… but Taeyeon sunbae’s 11:11 makes me want to sing that ballad instead… What do I do?”

   The male opened his mouth and let a big laugh roar throughout the cafeteria. He usually ate his meal quietly between practice with his eyes glued to the phone, scrolling through updates. The new male presence was more than welcomed at the moment, though. “Have you served in the army yet?” He asked, bringing his spork up to his lips with some rice and kimchi nicely wrapped around the spoon. 

“You have no choice to love kimchi there!” He exclaimed again and then proceed to shove the spoon full into his mouth. He smiled with his cheeks up high as he chewed. “Is there specialty kimchi there?” He mumbled his words between the rice. He brought his fist up to his mouth and quickly swallowed so he could continue speaking. 

“The best kimchi is made with a mother’s heart, for sure. But where is this hidden store? Is it close to here?”

   “Not at all!” he replied brightly with a quick shake of the head. His hair fell into place again before he parted his lips to defend his opinion. “The only hard thing is the uncertainty, but maybe that could be the motivation! You don’t know when you’ll debut but if you don’t work, maybe you never will.” He clenched his teeth in a tight smile and orbs darted forward to look her in the eye as he thinks again. “Did you find it hard compared to now?” 

“AH! The worst part, by far, is not being allowed to eat in the practice room… But don’t tell anyone that!” A soft chuckle escaped as he searched into his sweater’s pocket for another packet of choco pie. He sheepishly raised it up for the female to see and quickly covered it with his big hands again. “The crumbs in the room are my fault, I’m sorry if it gets in the way when you practice.” He took a step back and bowed a complete right angle. 

He rose from his apology and handed her the packet with his left hand on his right hand’s elbow pit. “Please accept my sweet apology, sunbae!” He reported in his soldier tone and lowered his head again.

   “EHH… I’m a full-fledged adult,” the tall male claimed with a pair of crescent eyes and uplifted rosy cheeks. “I served in the army already, doesn’t that make me into a man?” He inquired, raising his brows in question. Orbs turn down to his lap and continued his halted activity from seconds ago. POP. His fingers squeezed together; a bubble in between bursts from the force and lack of space for the air. His lap held the long sheet of bubble wrap that he promised to work on. POP. The spontaneous noises rupture the cozy atmosphere of the entertainment.

“I already claimed this bubble wrap to be mine! Sunbae popping my bubble wrap is figuratively popping my… my… ( happy bubble! )” His head bobbled up and down in a nod to add some confidence back into his own words. “Don’t you get a lot of fan gifts? There must be bubble wrap in there! Don’t take away this experience from me!”

The corner of his lips pull down in a frown as he protectively squeezes his body together and inch his body around to hide the bubble wrap to himself. In his head, he quietly repeated ‘Adults play with bubble wrap too.’
