  “Zero," Axton breathes out, his fingers clutching onto the bedsheet covers. “If you’re just messin’ around with my feelings, then you can get out and ask someone else to babysit me."

He scoffs at that, audible and mocking. He takes a step towards where Axton lies, folds his arms, and allows his head to loll slightly to the side, even the languidness as graceful as ever. “You are a fool," Zero says, solid and simply, failing to mask an underlying tone of affection.

It takes him a few seconds to catch that, but when he does, his lips curl into a wide smile and he lies back down. "I'm the fool? Says the guy that can't just say what's on his mind," Axton says with a smirk.

  "You heard," he says insolently- He’s not going to repeat himself. It’s close enough to a miracle that he said it in the first place. 

He stares at him for a long time, his mind racing. So many things to say, to ask, to do. “Do you really mean it," Axton asks, biting his lip.

He almost says no, if nothing else to alleviate some of the tension in the room. Instead he does what he’s known to do best; he stares, hard and unblinking, without so much as a word. His lips are pursed so tight it almost looks like he’s frowning.

(Really really, if you want to throw a turret or two at him, be my guest.  :D  It might teach him a little humility.  I might also suggest interacting from a distance, as electrocutions are generally best left to the midgets.  Seriously though, Nikolai is fairly neutral and unaffiliated with any of the bandit gangs that roam the land.  He turned up in Sanctuary needing to resupply and get back some stolen gear from the Bloodshots, and having done that, is out to enjoy the rest of the week Lilith promised him in the city by drinking himself stupid and trying to convince Lil to let him stay longer.    Interact with him like you would any character, which, since he looks like an enemy, would be totally realistic if Ax saw him out on the streets and tossed the little lady at him.)
