Water hitting my face like rubble falling down a cliff. My ears open and close as if it’s my first time hearing, popping loudly like a plastic bag. My nose fills itself with the sting of saltwater trying to suffocate me. Like opening the curtains after pulling an all-nighter, my eyes burn as I gasp out for oxygen. The freshness of the air is comparable to sharing a shower with a Bernese Mountain Dog. My ears are welcomed to their first sound, not yet set to the right gain. As the waves are clipping and the distant death like yelling carries a hallow feeling that leaves my skin yearning for grip, the ears get touched so hard by a sound that it felt like the reverse big bang.

I feel like covid really fucked me up. Still feel like that 17 year old kid pre-covid but the world has moved on and keeps turning. What do you mean my friends are getting married and are organising big cultural events? Aren't we supposed to be enjoying our high school lives?
