Tw: Violence, murder, light gore
Changbin dropped to the floor, clutching his stomach with a groan, and flared up at his teacher.
โDead,โ he scoffed, rolling his eyes at the young boy at his feet. โYouโre pathetic, you really think youโll be able to live up to your parents standards?โ
Changbin huffs softly as he struggles to his feet, not bothering to give a response, knowing it would only get him in more trouble. Instead, he Signalled that he was ready to continue sparing, getting a little lower to the ground.
He does his best to avoid his teachers blows, using his smaller stature to his advantage as he quickly moved around the man, managing to get in a couple hits. Unfortunately for him, Changbin didnโt have the upper hand for long, and soon was back on the floor again, his head spinning from a punch.

Changbin sat at the dinner table, a dark bruise blooming on his cheek in silence. The only real noise coming from the light clinking of utensils against the plates they ate off of.
โItโs useless,โ his mother sighs, breaking the silence suddenly.
โWhat is?โ His father asks, pushing his plate forward, folding his arms over his chest.
His mother nods towards Changbin and folds her hands in her lap. Changbin shrinks in on himself, slumping into his chair.
โYouโre just realizing this now?โ His father laughs, looking at his son with distain.
His mother sighs softly and shakes her head, โMaybe he just needs the right motivation.โ
She stands up from the table and crosses the room, bringing a thin folder back to the table with her.
โOh come now, heโs nowhere near ready for that,โ his father scoffs, rolling his eyes at the folder.
โIs it truly a loss if he isnโt?โ She quips sharply, callously tossing the folder towards Changbin.
Without even opening it, Changbin knew all too well what he would find in the folder. A picture, name, basic description, and location of a person that his family had been hired to kill. His hand shook lightly as he picked up the folder, opening it slowly to see a balding, chubby man in his mid forties smiling up at him.

One week later, Changbin crept up to the back door of the manโs house, a variety of different knives and daggers strapped to his hips and thigh. He wasnโt sure wether or not it was his motherโs doing, but he was grateful for the fact that this job played to his strengths.
He easily snuck in through a second floor window, climbing up the gutter along the side of the house. He glances around the room, staying as quiet as possible as me listens for any indication on where the man might be. Changbin quietly crept out of the room he was in and made his way into the hall, looking around for signs of anyone coming.
He slowly made his was to a balcony, getting a nice view of the bottom floor. In an open room off to the left he saw the man, reclined in a chair as he read the newspaper. Changbin grasped one of his throwing knifes, knowing full well that he could take the man out from where he stood. He let out a deep breath as he aimed.
He hesitated for a moment, then sighed as he put the knife away. โWhat was the point?โ He wondered, slowly backing away from the railing. Even if he was successful, he knew that his parents wouldnโt be proud of him. It would only buy him a few more days of them not criticizing his every move. He quickly and quietly left the house from the same window he entered from.

Changbin didnโt even bother heading back home, there was no point in showing his face around his family again, he was well aware of that. He knew of a town not too far away, one that his parents constantly complained about; saying that it was filled with low income families and homeless people on every block. At least heโd fit in there.
It didnโt take long for the crumbling buildings to come into view, and he soon understood why his parents complained so much, though at this point he supposed he didnโt really have a choice.
He did his best to look casual, hiding his knives and daggers under his clothing, and started to walk along the streets, keeping his head down in hopes of going unnoticed.
From the road, Changbin heard an argument from inside one of the buildings, the words getting clearer as he approached.
โI swear thatโs all we have,โ a boy with a strange accent insisted.
โPlease just leave us alone,โ a second begged.
Changbinโs stomach turned, judging by their voices the boys were around his age. One of the boys cried out in pain as the other begged for whoever was hurting him to stop.
Cursing under his breath, Changbin darted into the building and saw a large man pinning one of the boys to the wall, holding him there by his throat as the other cowered in the corner.
Without hesitation, Changbin pulled out a throwing knife and hurled it into the back of the manโs skull, hitting his target with a sickening thud. The man crumpled to the ground as Changbin approached the two terrified boys.
โAre there others?โ Changbin asks, stopping down to retrieve his knife from the manโs skull, unceremoniously wiping it clean on the fresh corpses shirt.
They both blinked at him and shook their heads โno,โ neither of them being able to find their voices.
Changbin then clued it to how scary he mustโve looked and quickly pocketed the knife. โHey Iโm not gonna hurt you, I just wanted to help,โ he explains, looking at the two frightened boys with a softer expression.
โT-thank you,โ the one who had been held against the wall squeaks as the other nods shyly.
โIโm Changbin,โ he introduces himself, offering his hands to help the two boys to their feet.
โChan,โ the first one states, taking his hand as he rubs his throat with the other.
โHi, Iโm Jisung,โ the more timid one says, taking Changbinโs hand.
