Inonotus obliquus aka chaga mushroom is a parasitic fungus on birch (seldom other trees). The conk is irregularly formed and has the appearance of burnt charcoal. However, the inside reveals a soft core with an orange color. Chaga may reach up to 80 cm in width or more. Once formed, it lives as long as the tree.

For centuries, chaga has been used as a traditional medicine in Russia and Northern European countries, mainly to boost immunity and overall health. It has also been used to treat diabetes, certain cancers and heart disease.

Traditionally, chaga is grated into a fine powder and brewed as an herbal tea. A cup of tea made from chaga is packed with antioxidants. Studies suggest that chaga extract can positively impact immunity by reducing long-term inflammation and fighting harmful bacteria and viruses.

EDIT: I’ve realized my mistake - the formation seen in the photos IS not  Inonotus obliquus but a bumpy growth. You can tell it apart from chaga by the tree bark growing on it, which would not happen in chaga.

lots of brain fog and confusion. as well as quick energy consumption

needing thin long clothes to protect skin from the sun

lots of pillows on my bed to protect corpse as I sleep and relax

lightheadedness, fatigue, hunger but not knowing of I'm actually hungry, slow careful movements, being v clingy and grabby to people

lots coffee to keep the meat body moving!

always finding trinkets whether natural/man-made

vocal stims!!! humming or grumbling or just noises + fascinated by noise (eg. bracelets clinking together)

sunscreen along with long sleeve clothing to protect my rotting skin

my body aching after long periods of rest (stretch those muscles!)

being nocturnal.
