Let's say you're a guitarist and you're asked to play with this amazing supergroup for "While My Guitar Gently Weeps". They tell you you'll even have some time to solo. A normal guitarist would immediately start thinking of George Harrison style riffs that they could respectfully put together, paying their respect, not overstepping with the other major talent onstage. Prince just says "I'm just going to blow a whole in their cranium MY WAY and my solo doesn't end until you make the song end. Any problems?"
