Hola, soy mun.
You can call me Prime! I'm here to provide more information on the zombie cardbots including how to stay safe from them.
There's a hierarchy of power among the cardbots, the leader of them all being called The Motherboard. Let's begin.
Crawlers:
Crawlers are low tier zombies who are highly aggresive. Supervision of their targets only lasts for a few hours before they attack. Like the rest of the zombies, they have paralytic saliva. Classified by their smaller claws used for ripping and tearing apart prey. They have a poor sense of vision, which is why they use their sense of smell track down their prey and lunge. Best to cover up your fuel scent with the blood of other zombie cardbots so they're less likely to attack you.
Brawlers:
Brawlers are similar to Crawlers, except twice as big. They have an excellent sense of hearing and vision, making them sensitive to bright lights and higher frequencies that wolves or other canines might be able to hear. Dog whistle should suffice in weakening them enough for you to get away.
Unlike the Crawlers though, their claws are a bit thicker, allowing them to latch onto prey and pull them back. Not only do they have bigger claws, but they pack a punch akin to ten times the strength of a mantis shrimp.* Safe to say you want to dodge and weave.
Manti:
Manti have no servos. They instead have scythe-like claws that bend backwards, similar to a praying mantis. Hence their classification. Their hearing is quite shoddy, which is why they use the horns on their head to track scents. Their eyes are able to see heat signals, which make hiding useless. Best to run as far as you can or try to incapacitate them via shooting in the optics or legs. Since they're bigger, they can't run very fast, allowing you to properly fucking BOOK IT. BOOK IT NOW.
But unlike Crawlers who only stalk for a few hours, Manti will follow their prey for days, maybe even weeks. They memorize their schedules, leave gifts, even make noise to lure their prey out into the open and get them feeling on edge. They love to play with their food. If you hear any sounds in the middle of the night, turn all your lights off and close any windows until it stops. DO NOT BY ANY MEANS FOLLOW THE SOUND. YOU WILL DIE.
Termitus:
Be very very careful of these cardbots. Though they're stationary and burrow in one place, they have a varying amount of cables planted into the ground via burying process. These cables have sensors around them that if tripped will cause a needle to come up from the ground and stick the victim, sending dangerous nanites into their systems that eat them from the inside out. Very similar to Earth's termites.
Their sensors can only go to about four feet in front of them. If you see one stationed out in the wild, DO NOT STEP ANY CLOSER. Take four to five paces back and GO AROUND. I repeat, take four to five paces back and GO AROUND or RUN THE OTHER WAY. ANY attempt to aggravate this specimen will result in very certain death. If you catch yourself in the range of a Termitus' cables, do not panic. They can sense fear, making it easier for them to find you.
What you need to do is let steam from your frame leave your vents. The increased temperature will lower the defenses and temporarily cloud the senses of the cardbot so you can safely speedwalk out of range. Running will trigger the spikes.
Mirada del Abismo(Stare of The Abyss):
Miradas are a cluster of three or more bots who's plating has been melted together to form one entity. They each only have one optic, but they use their presence to lure you into looking at them. Victims who look into their optics will be lured into a hypnotic state and taken back to The Motherboard, where they will be forced to offer themselves to her so she can take their processing chips.
Surefire ways to avoid the lure is to cover your optics and your audials. Find a safe place to hunker down or move to an area that's more crowded. Miradas can only lure one victim at a time, so the thicker crowds will overwhelm them and scare them off. If there are no places nearby to hide and you find yourself being chased by one, keep your eyes to the ground and start making a lot of noise to alert other cardbots that may be in the area. Do not stop running until you find a safe place. Miradas give up on hunting after two days of being unsuccessful and will move on to another victim.
Burrowers:
Burrowers are silent hunters. Their masks are split in half horizontally to make room for a bear trap lodged in there to mimic teeth. They hide in shrubbery and wait for prey to run by before attaching onto their foot and dragging them down. Much like burrowing spiders. The best way to avoid them is to look for any telltale signs of Burrowers. They aren't completely hidden and often have blade-like vertebrae sticking out of their back and showing just above the shrubbery. If you see a shine of silver in the bushes, TURN THE OTHER WAY. It is not a coin I repeat TURN THE OTHER WAY.
The Motherboard:
The Motherboard is a glitch that broke off from Deus Machina after failing to kill and take over their system. After Machina exploded, she traced the remains of the Cardbots all the way to Earth. Her ultimate goal is to turn them all into her kin.
All of the zombie cardbots serve The Motherboard. There is no changing their mind since she is their creator.
Now for each of their abilities.
Paralytic Saliva: An ability available to all zombie groups, including The Motherboard. It will paralyze any part it touches and will render the victim useless if it gets into their intake.
Claws: Only available to Manti, Brawlers, and Crawlers. Their claws and saliva carry the virus, so do NOT let them scratch or spit on you.
Echolocation: Available to Crawlers to aid them in navigating cramped areas.
Mimicry: Every zombie except the Crawlers can use mimicry to lure their prey in. It's very convincing unless you listen close enough and hear a slight distortion. If they are trying to guide you outside, away from a crowd, or behind a building, DO NOT LISTEN. I REPEAT, DO NOT LISTEN. STAY CLOSE TO YOUR GROUP NO MATTER WHAT. LISTEN FOR ANY DISTORTIONS IN THE VOICES. IF IT SOUNDS RASPY, DO NOT GO NEAR IT. START RUNNING VERY FAST AND VERY FAR.
Last but not least, things you SHOULD and SHOULD NOT DO.
When spotting one of these zombies, you SHOULD:
Run, call for help, find a weapon to protect yourself with, seek shelter.
You SHOULD NOT:
Try to keep one as a pet, try to tame one, try to befriend one, try to take on a horde by yourself, try to locate The Motherboard by yourself. Doing any of these will have lethal consequences.
And that's it for the guide! Hope this helps and happy surviving!
