• “Took some pretty bad lumps looks like,” he says and your chin lifts even as your eyes dart past him. Making it obvious you’re hiding and didn’t want them all to know. Especially when he notices the jacket beside you that you were probably planning to use to cover up the worst of the scrapes and bruises. Servos flexing, he wonders why you’re trying to keep this from them. Mass shifting, he kneels and picks up the roll of gauze. “Let me see.”

• Eyeing him as you realize he’s not going to fuss at you or pry, the tension ebbs out of you. Ignoring the roll of gauze in his servos, you find another roll in your bag. One that didn’t just roll across the floor. Doubt with their biology they have to worry about infection, but you definitely do. Finding the end of the roll, you hold it and the arm you’d been trying to bandage out. Thankful you’d been able to protect your face for the most part though you can feel a bruise forming on your jaw. Watching him clumsily wrap your arm with the clean gauze, you exhale slowly. “Thanks,” you mumble.

• Wants to ask who did this- if they’ll bother you again- but you’re already so tense that he’s afraid you’ll get defensive and stop talking altogether. You have them and they’re all more than willing to protect you, but you seem to prefer being self reliant and he understands that. Respects it. Even if right now, it bothers him. If you had one of them with you then maybe- what? If one of them transformed and intervened, it would give them all away. Frustrated, he wraps your arm. Understands why they’re hiding from your people for now, but it makes things harder.
