V routinely does profiles on "Rising Star" adventurers, especially if they've taken down someone big recently. Lairs and Dungeons does an article every issue with an adventurer reviewing a lair as a "from the other POV" thing. Meanwhile menace has a whole Adventurers review column ranking and rating them from the villain's perspective. Just as examples.

Seriously, retractions sound fine, but all the worst people can quite comfortably ignore them and some of the worst of them just use it to spin up conspiracy theories and double down. (Glowers at the entire anti-vax movement)
