I mainly did this for myself to see how each mod affects the Sims and the environment.

It’s not 100% accurate, since the position of your Sims can have a big effect on the lighting and many of these mods have unique colours/weather transitions over the course of each day.

All of my testing was done during Summer! Unfortunately, I was only able to add the EA lighting into my second comparison, which was strictly on Sims only.

If you've dabbled with core mods or recently approved of a new Windows update, it's likely you'll run into this notification while launching the game.

The good news? The notification is innocuous and easily fixable following the steps below.

Just press "Continue".

Yup, that easy! Pressing "Continue" will make the game launch normally. If you're unable to see this notification from a black screen, hold ALT + TAB at the same time to find it.

2. Fix your core mods.

Core mods such as NRAAS ErrorTrap and simler90's Gameplay Core Mod are known to cause this pop-up. The mods' platform version can be mismatched to your platform's version, prompting this notification.

ErrorTrap offers a download for different platforms: EA App, 64bit Mac version, Steam version and Retail Disk version.

so WHAT HAPPENED: i was in buy mode recoloring a kitchen when i accidentally either "dragged a style" to the non-recolorable floor or clicked the floor with the CASt tool, i don't remember, but anyway i found myself here:

"the current style is invalid. please select a new style before continuing" + that orange arrow pulsing and pointing at the custom preset thing, i think that is. and i was like ??? i can't select a new style because there is no other preset so???? all that was clickable was of no use, i was stuck on this interface.

so i turned to google, my blood pressure through the roof surely, and i learned of the existence of the "forcehud" cheat. so with testingcheatsenabled true:

i was told this cheat would bring me back to live mode but instead

it actually takes you to edit town as if you were just starting a new save or you wanted to switch families, and that's what you have to do, simply select your household to play and jump back in.

i was worried i was gonna lose my recoloring progress (because i saved right before starting, half an hour earlier as usual smh...) but it actually was as i left it - the only thing i "lost" was the aborted CASt style...so nothing ✨

anyway, glad i didn't have to force quit.
