Clasping and rubbing his hands together, a devious smile spreads across Zim’s face. He snickers, “And how does one go about gaining this “clout” currency?”
Yes, of COURSE I can command the humans to do whatever I want!!! EVENTUALLY anyways. They sure do love their clout… Why they’re all meatpuppet putty creatures to it! So easily malleable when you gain their trust as just another friendly face with a blog… So eager to share SO MUCH INFORMATION!!!
Ahem.
Anyways, it requires a lot of concentrated effort acquire “clout.” Humans have to like you, and your blog, and your content. It means diving deep into the dirty filth pools of the human psyche enough to become “relatable” and if it weren’t for the mission, I wouldn’t be wasting my time with such nonsense.
Keeping up this RUSE has never been harder!
〘🔻〙: “HHHMMMMMM... This “clout” seems to be far more powerful than I could have EVER imagIIIIINED!” he frowned, “And far more difficult to properly attain.” tapping a claw against his chin, Zim positioned his free arm behind his back, beginning to pace as he pondered this new knowledge.
“And you are sure there is no possible way to, eh, I dunno, cheat this “clout” system?”

〘🔻〙: “Twice?! Excellent. TWO explosions for a head TWICE THE AVERAGE SIZE!”
His double’s laughter gave Zim a sense of pride. He knew personally well of its rarity, and it worked well to remind him of exactly why he had chosen to respect his fellow ZIMS!
At the mention of snacks, the IRKEN’s face lit up, and his antennae stood up straight on his head. He clasped his hands together, his eagerness clearly visible.
“Snacks?!” he pressed, antennae wiggling in anticipation, “Do you have LICKY STICKS??”

〘🔻〙: Zim could feel his own pride being blugeoned with each step he took. An IRKEN Invader, receiving help from the enemy? PATHETIC! PITIFUL! DISGRACEFUL! And yet... he made no move to let go until his boots stood once more on solid, flat ground. Without the support, he reached out to grap ahold of the railing, his free arm still wrapped around his middle.
“Zim relies on... NO ONE!” he hissed through gritted teeth, a grimace painted on his face, “L.. Lunches... right. Yes.”
The alien, too, looked up and out towards the sidewalk. He felt as though he were lightyears away from his base. Away from safety. He could call GIR to pick him up, but he feared the children catching him in the act. Besides, this child was right here. She would surely see the use of his communicator! PAK legs were out for the same reason. He didn’t have many options left, did he?
Zim moved his free arm long enough to wipe the sweat from his brow, before returning it to its place. His pride had already taken quite the beating, but he was beginning to fear not only the inevitable wave of children, but the Dib catching him in such a state.
“Zim can... walk!” he croaked indignantly, though he didn’t sound very sure of himself, “I must... go now! Before... Before the DIB shhhhows up.”

〘🔻〙: Zim grumbled as he rubbed his mouth with the back of his wrist, shuddering at the lingering medicinal taste. He wasn’t one to turn to human remedies for things, though he supposed exceptions had to be made now and then. With a small huff, he ran both hands back over his antennae, smoothing them down as he slid back into a curled position.
It took him a moment to notice the blanket, but he took it without hesitation when he did. Wrapping himself up tight so that only his weary eyes were visible, he curled up into a tiny ball.
“Thank you...” he mumbled, allowing his eyes to droop closed. He sounded as though he were a completely different IRKEN— perhaps not IRKEN at all— certainly not Zim.
“You c’n... siddown if you want...”

〘🔻〙: “I only answer to Master Zim.” came the reply, in the exact same tone as it had before. There was no reasoning with a computer, it seemed. Especially one with strict orders.
Magenta eyes cracked open with great difficulty, peering up at the other through only a tiny sliver of color. The IRKEN could feel his thoughts slipping in and out of focus, feel his body growing heavier... His eyes closed once more. There wasn’t much that Zim could do to help at the moment.
In the distance, a shrill laughter could be heard. The sound seemed to be coming from somewhere below them, though it was quickly rising. It soon turned into a voice, words becoming clearer as whoever produced them climbed out of a lift disguised as a garbage can. With steps that squeaked with each movement, a small robot appeared in the doorway of the lving room, a small toy pig in its hands, with whom it was talking away to. The moment it looked up, however, the toy was dropped, and it began to wave furiously, hand held high in the air.
“HIIIII-IIIII MASTER!” GIR exclaimed, his harsh tone making Zim flinch, “OOOOOOO YOU BROUGHTS A FRIIEEEEENDD???” with that, he hopped over to the duo, running little circles around Edea, “WHOZZIS??? WHO IS YOU? WHO IS YOOOUUUU???”

Dib really should take the opportunity to hurt the alien, but curiosity is getting the better of him. He had seen Zim survive things no human could, so what exactly was bringing him to such pain now ? Of course once he found out what it was he’d use it against the Irken like the other assumed, but in order to get that information he’d have to trick Zim.
“ No way, space boy. I hate you and all but I don’t want you throwing up- or whatever you’re about to do- all the time. ” Only a half lie. He really didn’t want that, Zim was disgusting enough without puking but if it stopped the invader from conquering Urth, it was worth it.
“ Why are you even at skool today ? Shouldn’t you be trying to get better from whatever it is you have ? Humans take breaks, you know. ” Long ago he’d have tried to get Zim to the nurse’s office, but after the fiasco from last time Dib figured it would be easier to expose the alien menace himself rather than have a doctor do it.
〘🔻〙: Zim didn’t even react to the all-too-familiar nickname. His thoughts were far too preoccupied at the moment.
“Zim needs no— ergh— break!” he snapped back, though his voice didn’t hold nearly as much bite as it usually did. He peered out at Dib through a thin sliver of an eye, “I am... certain that this will... pass! And when it does, I will DESTROY—“
Both of the alien’s eyes squeezed shut tight once more, and his arms tightened around his middle as his stomach squeedilyspooch made an audible gurgle that caused him to grimace. How pitiful he must look, hunched and weak in front of the enemy!
Zim turned his head to face the opposite direction, before resting it against the table once more. Beads of sweat had begun to form on his forehead.
“Leave Zim... alone, Dib-beast.”

〘🔻〙: In all honesty, Zim was... very confused. The last he had seen of Tak, she had wanted nothing more than to watch him suffer. Now, she was in his base, with a free, clear view of his misery, and she was... helping him? It just didn’t make sense to him. Was this some sort of trap?
When the item is presented to him, Zim slowly cracked an eye open, its bright magenta color having dulled considerably. He took the bottle in an unsteady hand, and brought it up close to his face so that he may read it. Cough medicine? She was bringing him medical aid?
“Hhhhow... do I know this is not... a trick?” he questioned, more coughs following quickly behind his words. His free hand moved to clutch his middle, and his eyes squeezed tightly shut once more, “Okayokay, Zim will— ergh— Zim will take it!”
With that, he clumsily unscrewed the cap, and took a swig. He didn’t really care about exact dosages. His face scrunched up, and he gagged at the foul taste.

〘🔻〙: Zim’s eyes widened, and he found himself leaning in just slightly. This human was so eager to give away any information that he wished to gather! She did not even question him on why! Yes, this girl would be of far greater use to him than he had originally thought.
‘Handshake’, ‘Fist-Pump’, ‘High-Five’. Ugh, did all human gestures have to do with touching hands? Disgusting. But, even so, he would have to take note of all of them if he wanted to blend in seemlessly with these filthy creatures.
“Eh? The project?” Zim’s attention snapped back to reality, and he remembered why they were speaking in the first place. The skool project. With a groan, the alien slumped down in his seat, waving a hand dismissively, “Yeah, sure, whatever.”

〘🔻〙: Zim’s antennae perked at this, and he seemed… taken back by the stranger’s statement. In all honesty, he wasn’t used to hearing these things said by anyone but himself. His work was amazing…?
“… Yes, well…” he cleared his throat, sitting up a little taller in his seat, “O-Of COURSE it is! I AM ZIIIM!” a pause, a moment of thought, “I guess I can tell you about a few of my ingenious plans!” was he forgetting about the part where they failed? “What, eh… What did you want to know?”
Silas smiled. She was glad the attention shifted away from the tallest. She dealt with them enough on a daily basis.
“Well I suppose I’m more interested in your creative process more than anything.”
She was silent a moment before she spoke again, her antennae perked up.
“And how do you manage all your little projects when it’s just you and your SIR?”
She couldn’t even dream about having so little at her disposal. Not that she’d even want to. It made her shudder.
〘🔻〙: “My creative process? Eh... YES, yes, OF COURSE you are interested! It is a very complex and INTRICATE process, you know!” Zim threw his hands up into the air. Y’know, for emphasis.
With his own antennae standing straight atop his head, the smaller alien wore a large, proud smile, “This is not a problem for ZIIIM! I would be able to conquer this planet BLINDFOLDED! Oh, oh! And with my ARMS tied behind my BACK! Invading is in my BLOOD! NO challenge is too great for the might of ZIM!”

〘🔻〙: Zim groaned at that. Of course GIR had let her in. That little robot was always letting random strangers into the base, no matter how often Zim tried to teach him better. That SIR unit was going to get them caught one of these days!
“Rrgh... GIR...”
As his forehead was dried, the alien allowed his eyes to close once more. It was soothing, no matter how much he didn’t want to admit it. IRKEN do not need such trivial things such as compassion or comfort! He was a SOLDIER! Trained to take care of himself! And yet... he didn’t say a thing, or try to push her aid away.
“Medicine...” he croaked, finally gathering enough of his energy to speak once more, “You brought... medicine? Give... Give to Zim.”

Zim, the green kid currently doubling over in stomach pain, was part of Miss Bitter’s class - not her’s. She only knew him through Dib, and he had a lot to say. From what she could gather through the paranormal investigators’s many claims was that Zim was of an alien spiecies bent on universal conquest. So far none of his diabolical schemes have exactly succeeded, however.
She did not view the irken as a threat to earth…yet.
All that pushed aside, including Zim’s little insult, Vix tutted at the sickly sight with a hint of pity; a very unusual occurance for the Malot.
“Five minutes before ze bell, Zim.” She teased insensitively, leaning in toward him, “You vouldn’t vant to get trampled on, vould you?“
Vix straightened herself upright again, her smirk fading as the alien continued to groan and grumble in agony. Her emerald eyes darted around to make sure no one was looking: the coast was clear. With a strained sigh, she whipped her gloved hand out impatiently, “I vill escort you down ze stairs and leave it at zhat.”
〘🔻〙: Five minutes before the... bloop. Had it been that long already? He must have completely lost track of time, sitting here hunched in his little ball of misery. Misery aside, the human had a point. If he stayed here when the school bell rung, the heathenish children would have no qualms with trampling over him to get where they were going. He supposed he was going to have to get himself off these stairs somehow, and quickly.
Or... maybe a way would present itself to him, instead. The outstretched hand caught the IRKEN by surprise, and he stared at it a moment. Was this some sort of trick? A way to make a fool of him? He could never be sure. However, this specific human hadn’t done anything to him as of yet, though he had witnessed her conversing with the Dib. Perhaps he could make a small leap of faith, just this once. If she decided to betray him, he would simply destroy her.
Hesitantly, Zim reached his own gloved hand outwards, and took the offer. He was shaking like a leaf.
“Fffine. Let us... commence our descension.”
