Donald Trump and Kim Jong-Un are Essentially the Same Person
What weāre currently witnessing between Donald Trump and Kim Jong-Un is what happens when two unhinged, delusional, and mentally unstable crazy people face off with one another. Their āleadership abilitiesā are built around massive egos and unprecedented insecurities, fueled by āyes menā who are constantly pandering to their obsessive need to be told theyāre the most intelligent, powerful leader whoās ever existed ā and that nothing they say or do is ever wrong.

āStep In Inequalityā by art director and graphic designer Kazunori Shiina
1973. Some things never change
Minimum wage: $7.25
$7.25 x 40 hour full time work week: $290
$290 x 4 weeks per month: $1,160
In every Southern state (didnāt have time to look at the rest of the country) you can find some sort of studio apartment for around $500 per month, sometimes less than that. Why bother lying about something so easily disproven?Ā
Because Bernie Sanders supporters arenāt going to fact check him, and theyāll ignore any contrary evidence thatās presented to them anyways.
Things like this really tick me off and Itās not political or anything but itās the fact that you think all that money is there. Hereās what I mean;
That weekly check comes to, according to you, 290. Most places DO NOT pay for your half hour lunch that is required by law. So your beginning number was wrong. $7.25 x 7.5 hours a day x 5 days a week only gets you $271.88. Ā Most people in America get paid bi-weekly, so letās double it to get the budget. $543.75. Thatās GROSS, not NET. Out of that comes anywhere between 10% and 15% taxes depending on state so weāll low ball it at 10%. Automatically down to $489.38 a pay check. Now health insurance. Usually anywhere from 70-100 a pay check for the cheapest plans. Again, weāll low ball and go $70. So now we have $419.39 a paycheck. x 2 Ā = $839.Ā
Eight hundred thirty nine dollars. A MONTH.
But again, you seem to think thatās fair. So letās proceed. You say rent is $500? Okay. This person now has $339 left to buy groceries for the whole month, pay utilities, car payment, car insurance, and gas money to get to work.Ā
Those are the bare needs. You have to eat. You have to pay for heat, water, garbage removal, gas and or electricity because apartments do not always include things and rarely all of the above. Most cities in America do not have public transportation. Mine doesnāt despite the fact that our population is over 15,000 people, not counting a taxi. If you have a car, you have to pay that. If you have a car, legally you have to have car insurance. You have to pay that. You have to have gas in that car to get to work to make that money.
Now if you can tell me you can get all of that out of $339 youāre lying.
You are so focused on rent that you arenāt thinking about everything else people have to pay for. Rent was an example. This is a breakdown of the budget you gave me and itās not possible to live off that in 2017 America.Ā
And BECAUSE this person makes over $800 a month, they probably wonāt qualify for financial aid or food stamps. $800 is the line in my state where they wonāt help you. No food stamps, financial aid, or government housing if you make more than $800 a month.Ā
Why does it bother you that people deserve to live above the poverty line?
First, Bernie said 1 bedroom apartment. Second, he also said fair market value. Third, the math above.
In my city if you fall asleep in something that is only $500 a month, even a studio, you will wake up somewhere else where the roaches have carried you off to.

#PostItFoward ! Itās still the Mental Health awareness month and I just wanted to keep up with the inspirational quotes and lyrics and just keep a good vibe and positive mind! Remember to be nice to yourself everyday! š®š±
Itās time to stop talking about The Handmaidās Tale like itās futuristic dystopian fiction. The war on women is real and Republicans are trying to legislate rape culture into law.
He was only 27.
Edward Crawford, the man featured in the iconic Ferguson protest photograph throwing a tear gas canister, was found dead overnight, his father said. Police say it appears the death was from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.Ā
He has become the symbol of fighting for justice for so many people and now we lost him. RIP.

If your representative voted Yes on Trumpcare, thereās an upside: You still have a crucial, furious job to do.
The most effective protest, and the one with the best optics, is the one you make physically: showing up at your shitbag Representativeās district office, camera in hand. Be there when he gets to work in the morning. Be there when she leaves. Ask her if she is embarrassed. Ask him if he is ashamed. Tell her interns and assistants about yourself, about your loved ones. Explain to your local newspaper, to neighborhood blogs, to your facebook friends and Twitter followers why you are furious and disappointed and why you will not forget.Ā
If you would rather call, hereās a potential script. It is maybe not the best? Iām pretty angry.
Hi. Iām calling to register my anger and disappointment at Rep. ____ās Yes vote on the AHCA. [I/my loved ones] am now at risk of losing my insurance, and I am appalled that social programs that personally affect me and my loved ones will be stripped in order to provide tax breaks to the wealthy. Rep. ____ should be ashamed of himself. I and my community will not forget this vote. Will you please take down my information and send me confirmation that the Congressman is listening to constituents? Thanks.
If your rep voted YES and you donāt want to call them, there are PLENTY of people on tumblr who will call on your behalf.Ā
In between the fury and the heartbreak of today (which I am also feeling), I want to also add a few nitty gritty Legislative Process details here:
1. The bill has to pass through the Senate before it becomes law.
2. The reason this is so rushed is largely in part to get it done before the budget reconciliation deadline (which this technically falls under). There are a lot of weird, confusing, conflicting rules for this and TBH I donāt totally understand them (because theyāre arcane and extremely complicated), but the point is that our primary goal should be stalling until they run out of time.
3. The Senate cannot vote on the bill until the CBO scores it, which likely wonāt be until June.Ā
4. Congress goes into recess this week and they will be back among their constituents. Give them HELL.
Other Notes:
1. Here is the Congress.gov page showing who voted how (at the time of posting not yet updated but check back).
2. Here is the ActBlue page to donate to Democrats running to oppose Republicans who voted for TrumpCare.
Another reason why itās a good idea to keep up the pressure on House members who votes yes on ACHA is thatās itās not at all unlikely that theyāll have to vote on it again. Here are three options going forward, as best I understand them:
1. The Senate votes on ACHA as is and as it was passed by the House; the bill becomes law of the land. This is the scariest possibility, but also, imo, the least likely. That doesnāt mean we should get complacent - thereās a real chance of this happening, but we should have a good amount of time to stop it.
2. The Senate votes down the bill. Itās dead and the processes has to start all over again or be abandoned entirely.
3. The Senate amends the bill before voting on it, which means that even if they vote yes it has to go back to the House for another vote on the new version of it. At this point, House members are free to say āWell, I voted for the original version, but this new version is unacceptable.ā This could be code for āMy constituents are mad at me for my original vote but I donāt want to admit I made a mistakeā or even āI never really wanted this bill to pass; I wanted the Senate to kill it for me.ā I read an article today with a representative PREEMPTIVELY saying he might not vote yes on the bill again if the senate altered it.
I hope people call their senators and keep the pressure on there too, but I agree that we canāt take our focus off the House.

From the link: āSuggesting that the sick are guilty of some sort of moral turpitude is essential right-wing dogma, but it has no place in the making of sane healthcare policy.ā
It has no place in government or in a decent society, yet here we are.
This statement sounds like the direct result of internalized both-siderism. You donāt get to pick and choose which parts of the ruling partyās dogma you think is appropriate. They believe it, wholly, and if we (and especially our media) avoid pointing out the extreme and offensive nature of right-wing politiciansā beliefs, these are the laws we have to expect.
The parties may not be exactly what anyone wants, but they arenāt close together on issues, they are radically different. As such, political coverage shouldnāt consist entirely of court intrigue, it should tell us the impacts of candidatesā proposals instead.
Our great newsrooms shy away from ugly truths out of fear of accusations of bias, then feign surprise when offensive bills pass.

In addition to rape, postpartum depression and cesarean sections are also considered preexisting conditions. Companies can also deny coverage for gynecological services and mammograms.
As I get older Iām finding that a lot of the āintellectualsā I used to admire are actually just condescending and pretentious. And also realizing how much more important it is to be present, considerate, and empathetic because nobody really knows what theyāre talking about and anyone who claims to know everything about anything is feeding you bs.
