Lion dad who wakes up to his baby crying. “Shhh baby, it's okay, come here. Did you have a nightmare kiddo? It's alright, you're safe now. Dad's right here,” he whispers as he pulls his kid into his arms. He won't let anything happen to his cub. “It's okay to be scared. Dad gets scared a lot too, you know that?” he asks gently.

His kid shakes their head sleepily, still trembling from their nightmare. “It's true. Papa has scary thoughts and dreams just like you do. But that doesn't mean we're not brave.” His cub looks up at him and tilts their head in confusion. “I promise, sweetheart. Being brave doesn't mean you never feel afraid. It means that you're so full of courage that you can push through the fear and come out stronger on the other side.” His cub wraps their little arms tighter around his chest and snuggles deeper.

he’s a wolf caregiver obviously. very protective of his pup, has a den he guides you to, and will def roll over on top of you on accident during naptime

he likes to toss you up into the air and swing you around (he can do it even if you’re big cause he has that knight strength plus his anemo vision so)

whenever he gets his weapons refreshed by the blacksmith he always comissions an extra goodie for you like a metal flower or a new wind-up toy to play with

if you ask him to sing lullabies, he never gives it a genuine soft lullaby sound, he always turns it into a playful over-expressive operatic performance

if you were with him before coming back to mondstadt, he would always tell you stories about the home he missed

when you get your first scar, he holds you in his lap and tries to tell you how cool it looks and how its a sign of how brave you are

you are his pride and joy and it always makes him giddy when you brag about him being your caregiver

for pet regressors + baby regressors, he LOVES carrying you in his arms or his back or shoulders

i picture him taking care of a noisy pup regressor who loves to whine and bark while he worriedly tries to quiet them late at night so no one else is disturbed by the regressor's high energy levels

varka is definitely more worried about you than he often lets on. he tries really hard to be brave and confident, but he's always looking over you for wounds the way he would a rookie knight
