when i burned out last time, it was because i ended up being behind on one of my courses that i had to try and catch up on it. it was on a pre-requisite Math Course. and i thought since it wasnt gonna be on my transcript, i could just do the bare minimum. i did do the bare minimum and passed but that kinda fucked me up the next course which was the requirement.. so i had to do more work. and that kinda domino’d until my next course. but for the recent one, i took, i was able to perform better

so i mentioned that because I knew what a cause of my burnout was, and it was being behind in one course. thus for the semesters that followed including my current one that’s about to end, i made sure i was not behind on anything

if i had a homework due the week after, i start it ASAP and do it by increments. even if i end up only doing 20% the first day, i know i can work on it, the next and the next and i submit it as soon as it’s finished. in this way, i can now do work for my other courses. and i have time to unwind, play games, and relax

Procrastination IMO is the biggest cause of a burnout but there are also other factors.. like part-time jobs, outside-school reasons, etc. for those, you have to address them. if you’re too stressed out from part-time jobs, take less shifts. if that is not an option, go to financial advising and apply for a bursary. 

if you really have to work for your degree, then assess how many courses you can take working your job. if you’re doing 5 courses on top of your job, and you’re dying. reduce the course load next semester and see what your limit is.

when you’re already burned out, the only way it will end is when the semester ends and you get to reset imo. so for the next semester, 

1. identify what you think caused your last burnout

2. take preventive measures

but if you’re already burned out. unwind and relax. play a video game or something. exercise and maybe your mind could reset and you will be able to handle what is about to come. remember its only temporary and a state of mind
